HELP!
I love the name Elsie and have all through my pregnancy, but am REALLY struggling to budge my husband on it - he just doesn't like it.
We have both agreed Alfie for a boys name (no debate thankfully) - our surname is Brown is quite easy to match in that sense. I think Alfie Brown is lovely, but Elsie Brown has just as nice a ring to it!
Is it just me, or can I canvas some support for Elsie?? Is it that bad?!

PS: other names we have managed to agree on for girls are Rose, Emily and Daisy. But I'm still holding out for Elise - any tips for swaying OHs to like names welcome?!

:-)

I think you made a typo there but I like Elise more than Elsie! But I still prefer Elsie to the other suggestions because I like more unusual names.

Elsie is becoming very fashionable at the mo, but i really love Rose and Daisy (obviously ) from your other choices. xx

Thanks for your posts :-) woops yes was a
typo in there somewhere, I did mean elsie and no elise!

Still need to work on hubby then. Didn't realise it was
becoming popular as I'd not heard it for yonks. Other name I like is Kitty but hubby not keen once again !!

Thanks again XX

All the names you have come up with sound nice :)

When I was in school we had a girl in our class called Elsie (actually Elspeth but obviously shortened) and the name kind of grew on me. It has a nice ring I think.

i have to be the odd one then cause i dont like elsie at all makes me think of old ladies sorry!

not my cuppa tea to tell you the truth - I had a great aunt named elsie so it just reminds me of an old ladies name - sorry

Wouldn't be a choice of mine, but if you like it I guess it doesn't matter.
If your husband doesn't like it though why not look online and make a shortlist and let him pick one from that? That's what I did lol.

i fell in love with Elsie when i was pregnant and was going to be the name if Archie was a girl!

I like it but would only use it as a middle name myself only because it is a little old fashioned and kids in school can be cruel

my name is janet and i was the only one in my school and got teased about it

I love it but would call her Elsa and nn her Elsie. Maybe your husband could get on board with that?

I think Elsie Rose Brown would be a beautiful name, but I am a sucker for old fashioned names.

Thanks everyone appreciate your inputs and varied views. I must admit I love the old fashioned names, I like Flo and Nelly too but hubby just won't have elsie so I'm up against it anyways!
Will take onboard all your comments and see what we settle on lol.
Least we both like Rose and Daisy so have two to play with. Hubby lost his mum during my pregnancy so whatever happens middle name is Barbara so I've no choice on that, but am happy As a nice thought :-)
hope mrsraggle you go with elsie I love it :-)

I love it. Yeah its an old name, but its gorgeous. Elise is nice too.

I'm not overly keen on Elsie sorry hun. I think Daisy and Rose are both lovely names though :) xx
