Elsie...what do rek ladies?

I love Elsie and have it in mind for the next one. I personally love 'granny' and old fashioned names.

As for persuading your OH, my hubby just one day agreed on our name out of the blue, maybe yours will come round to it. Or tell him when you've just given birth what you want-you'll def get your own way. X

I love it, I would though as it is our chosen name for a girl

I'm not keen either to be honest, Elsie Brown makes me think of an old lady too.

However - that's just some random's opinion and it's your baby! What I would say is though if one of you is dead set against a name maybe best to leave it behind and move on? My husband and I have had to do that woth lots of names that one of us liked and the other simply did not, appreciate it's hard but you made the baby together so nice to name together too

Good luck!!

My name is ELizabeth and my sister always called me Elsie- I hated it then but I like it now- people refrence the name sometimes to Elsie the Cow (old commercial) but I like it

Love the name Elsie. Would have it myself but have a friend with an Elsie already :(

I love the name Daisy. One of my choices before we found out it was a boy xx

I love Elsie! I think it is super cute, I love how there has been a resurgence of old fashioned names, and Elsie is adorable. I love Alfie too!

Just to let you know, from nowhere this weekend, my hubby suddenly announced (whilst led in the bath, shouted to me on the landing - sorry about that image ladies :-), that he now likes Elsie !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RESULT ! or so you'd think........then (either me being pregnant - hormones or simply because I suddenly got what I wanted unexpectedly after nearly 8 months of badgering!) thought..ohhh...do I REALLY like Elsie, or was I pushing it because he didn't like it? ! ha..?! crazy!? I started thinking of other names during the night and came up with Betty which I now love, hubby thought I'd lost the plot when I mentioned another name, as I'd been after Elsie for MONTHS!! :-)

Well, after a weekend of thought, have decided I still like it and I wasn't pushing it just to see if I could prove a point and change my hubbies mind lol. I've only 5 weeks and 5 days to work on him for the name Betty, and it just isn't going to happen lol.

Alfie is 110% for a boy and has been throughout, Elise is 95% for girl, with the options when it arrives to see if suits and pick one of other names if not!

Can't believe he finally caved and fell for the name Elsie, and I suddenly had second thoughts..whoops!

Thanks for all your thoughts, appreciate your views.

:-) xxxxx

5 weeks and 5 days till due :-)
:happydance:

I love Elsie AND Betty - so glad he ahs agreed on Elsie!

Of course Elizabeth might be an option - cos Elsie and Betty could both be shortened versions??

Good shout! Great idea, although I think his ex partner was an Elizabeth, so whilst I've got away with Elsie, Elizabeth just aint gonna happen - but what a fab idea! Shame that.
Thanks x
