If you like/love this name please add your support I love it but my husband thinks its an old womans name. I want to show him I am not mad.

I love it and I would really consider it if I had a little girl, but it was my Great-Grandma's name so I can see why he would see it as an old lady's name! I think it's very cute on a little girl as well tho! x

Love it :) old fashioned names are back and Elsie is such a sweet name :) xxx

It des remind me of an old lady i knew, but i still think its a gorgeous name! :) xx

My niece's name is Elsa, and we all just call her Elsie. Its lovely!

Elsie is an old persons name (my grandma's) but its a GORGEOUS name and one we are considering too!!

All classic names are going to be considered "old lady names." Think Emily, Anna, Grace, Helena...the list can go on and on. If you think its pretty I would use it.

I think it's a lovely name! Most names were "old-ladies-names" at one point or another.. But I think Elsie is becoming more of a young name these days. You could also suggest Elisa or Elisabeth as a compromise and just call her Elsie? Or how about Ailsa?

What a cute name! I might add it on to my short list too! (so I don't think you're mad! lol)

I love it, DH likes it too if we have a little girl, even though we already have a rabbit called Elsie! :haha:

Elsie was my first choice and I love it but hubby said no because he said it sounded like an old person's name.

The only person I know with this name is my OH's great aunt...an old lady! But I love it!! :D

I like it, I was considering Elsa and Elsie would have been a nickname for her :)

I would love to use it myself but unfortunately it was my great grannie's name from my dad's side and for various reasons I think it would upset my mum.

It could be short for Elsbeth / Elspeth too... I love the old fashioned names, but I think some work better than others. Elsie is definitely on the cute side rather than the dowdy side (desperately hoping not to cause any offense here, but I am thinking of names like Ethel that just don't have such a pretty ring to them...IMO)
