Well, my little girl, Emersyn Jade decided to become an August baby. FTM and had her at 39+1. She was born this morning, August 29th, 2014 at 9:10 A.M. She weighs 8 pounds 5 ounces and is 20 3/4 inches long.
I went to the hospital yesterday morning (August 28th) with contractions 5 mins apart. I was monitored and only was at 3 cm dilated and 80% effacement with no progression at all within an hour. I was sent home and started to have longer and stronger contractions. So I went in last night and was dilated to a 4. They admitted me at 7:05 P.M.![Smile :) :)](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
Got my epidural at 10:30 P.M and was dilated to a 6. I then stayed at 6 cm dilated for the whole night!
they have me pitocin, but it didn't help too much. At 5:15 A.M this morning (August 29th), they broke my water and I went from a 6 to a 9 within 2 hours! I had the worst back labor that the epidural couldn't cover and ended up puking all over during labor. I told my nurse that I had an urge to push and that she needed to check me again! Sure enough, I was fully dilated and 100% effaced. I started pushing at 8:30 A.M and she was here by 9:10 A.M. I only pushed for 40 mins with this her!
the umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck twice and it scared the crap out of me. But, she's a trooper like her mommy and got through it.
Anyways, the moral of my birth story is that I was terrified and alone (Single mom). I didn't know what to expect. I was scared I wouldn't have that "bond" with her that so many women talk about. But I PROMISE you, you will look at that baby and feel a sense of love you've never EVER experienced.
Life is a journey and it's so unpredictable...but, if you're lucky enough to be able to bring kids into this world, you've got everything you need. Good luck to all you mamas who are about to deliver!
