After a few days of mucus plug loss and contractions stopping and starting I woke at 11pm and started having them. Decided to time them for funsies. They weren't hugely regular (4-7 mins apart) but then I got quite a good one at 11.45pm and felt a pop, and my waters went.
Gave my sleeping hubby quite the fright by asking for a towel. He wanted to call the midwife asap but my waters never went with my last and like a lot of ladies, I was worried I'd just peed! So put a pad on and lay down for 10 mins. Sure enough more came out when I stood up. Called midwife and she said to call/head to hospital when I had 3 contractions in 10 mins. I already had but waited another set to make sure. Called MIL to come over and be at the house with my sleeping son and we left for hospital.
Got there about half 12. Midwife got there not long after and I was already dilated to a 9! Started pushing about 1am. Baby arrived at 1.59am and I didn't use any pain relief. Was extremely happy to get my vbac. I laboured about 45 minutes on all fours and switched to lying on my back for the last lot and she just came right out. After her head came out the midwife told me to look, so I got to watch her come out.
Anyway, summary: Emily Grace born 1.59am, October 12 (39w 2d), 7lbs 9oz. Born 3 hours after contractions started, 2 hours after water broke. 1 hour of pushing with no pain relief. Got a very small tear inside my vag, which apparently heals better than outside ones.
And we're totally in love x x
