empty sac

i am very early on in my pregnancy. I had a very slight bleed which i went to the hospital about. They wanted me to have a scan when they took the scan they couldn't see anything. We went back 10 days later and we were told that the sac had grown but they still couldn't see anything. I am going back next week to see whether my baby is there or not i would really appreciate some words of advice or comfort

How early on?

Sometimes they just can't see yet because the baby is so little. Don't give up hope

Hey there. Before 7wks seeing an empty sac is very normal hun. After that, it is still possible not to see anything, but by 8wks there is usually a flicker of a heart beat. Hope all turns out ok for you hun xxx

Hey, same thing happened to me They found my LO but was scheduled for a curate the day after scan as they thought i was later then i was.. My LO was hiding Good luck hun I know it's scary But you have to hang in there.. And try to work out your dates, as this may help..

They only found my LO near 9weeks couldn't find him before that! So try to hold on for as long as you can They thought i was around the 12weeks mark when they found him/her..

PS I had a scan every week until they found him.. Its scary and disheartening ( I cried so bad when they found him/her) I had around 6 scans

I have also heard of stories where people could not find babies until 9-11 weeks pregnant - some of it has to do with the way the utreus lies, some with the scanner and scanning machine and then sometimes it is just chance. Unless you are bleeding heavily or have an infection you can wait it out - there is a chance of a blighted ovum, but there is also the chance that everything is perfectly fine and baby is just hiding.

This happened to me around this time last year. I went for a private scan a week later (NHS wanted me to wait 2 but I just couldn't!) and baba had a heartbeat. Hope everything turns out well for you

i am going through that at the moment, i have a scan on wends after my last scan nearly two weeks ago showed a empty sac i have been told it could be just its too early to see, but by wends they shuld see something i will let u know what happens on wends but understand ur worry 100% its horbble not knowing xxx

I understand your worry I've also got to return for another scan next week as they are concerned that there has been no growth, but have started to bleed on top of everything. Hoping everything is ok with you. The waiting game is the worst part. Try to stay positive, apparantly its really common. (so the hospital told me anyhow!)
