Hi, :flower:

Was hoping someone could offer me some advice on what I should do.

Had a lap in July to remove my endo (stage 3) think it was cauterised off and the gyno said he got what he could see.
Downside is I'm no better since. AF is actually more painful. 11months ttc and nothing. Went back to see my gyno who said either take painkillers and keep trying or go on hormone injections.
Obviously just want to conceive, so not sure what to do now.
Is there anything that can help us ttc? Am taking the usual prenatals and have tried supplements and now on maca.
The pain is sometimes really bad, but if I knew we could conceive I'd try my best to put up with it.

Booked a docs appt for next week for some advice too, but hopefully you girls can offer some advice first and then I can go pre-armed!

Thanks x x

Hey floofymad- I also had my Lap in July and was diagnosed with Stage 4. A lot of the endo was removed but my doc said that its not always possible to remove 100%. Even if microscopic endo is left it can cause problems in TTC. She has advised me to go on Lupride shots for 3 months which kills endo 100% and relieves painful symptoms. Unfortunately this treatment comes with a lot of side effects. I am currently trying an IVF and if it doesnt work I will go on to the shots. The thing is that Endo does reduce fertility in women and the best chances of conception r within 1st year of lap, so moving on to fertility treatments makes sense.

Hi floofy
I'm in the same position as you, except I've not had a lap since june 09, did zoladex jan - june 09. Zoladex is supposed to help you conceive, but 6 months is a long time when you want a baby. There are alternative therapies and approaches, such as the endo diet or acupuncture and chinese medicine (the latter two helped us conceive but not stay pregnant).
I'd be interested to hear what is suggested to you!

Thanks guys.
I want to conceive as soon as possible to get control of this endo and the longer it takes, the worse it'll be. But every time I ask a doctor or my gyno, they just play it down and say I've got to wait like everyone else and just keep trying. I'm currently trying the endo diet (sort of) well am trying to eat better and reduce wheat. I've had 2 reikis and the woman who does them says it'll be helping. Also considering acupuncture or reflexology.
Did you find acupuncture good fifi?x

clomid worked for me following lap, you could ask for that!? I was put on it as told my best chance of conceiving would be the 6-12 months following lap.

Good luck.

Hey floofy,
i dont have any advice but can only say only go on the hormone treatment as a last option! I was on prostap for 3 months after my lap and now im clomid as my ovaries havent wanted to work since!! I wish id known the side effects as i wouldnt have taken it xxx

Thank you.
Did they have a specific reason for giving you it? i.e. were you ovulating or not? or did they just want to give you a boost?
Congratulation; hope everything's going well :hugs:

it was just to give me a boost. I got positive ov tests before, but the fertility woman thought that as the 6 months after the lap are the best for fertility, then a boost was a good idea. I was given 3 months worth of 100mg a day to take days 2-6.

Hope this helps.

good luck

Acupuncture was helpful, conceived three times whilst going for it, it relaxed me and I think it helped my endo, wish I had been able to afford to carry on to say for certain, but the Chinese have been using it for centuries so it must have some use!!!

Off to the doctors tomorrow to ask for some help and advice.
Had ten days with barely any pain, which I put down to the dandelion root I'd started taking and the exclusion of wheat. However came back Sun night and has been really bad today.

Really hope the doc is understanding and doesn't fob me off.

don't let them fob you off! I was fobbed off by 2 Dr's when I saw the Dr who sent me for Lap I burst into tears that I was finally believed! Be persistant and if one Dr fob's you off go to a different one! I was lucky there are so many Drs at the same practice!

Thanks Daisii
I've already been to about 6 different ones about my endo! They were all a$$ !%£*& and noone would refer me. One hadn't even heard of endo! F x this one knows!

Floofymad - if a doc has never heard of endo you just pick up your stuff and leave!!!! :) That's crazy!!!! But I agree with everyone else you need to keep on going and not give up. There is a solution for everything you just have to find a doc who's will to try and work with you on the different solutions!!!

I thank God for my FS he's wonderful!!!! He keeps reassuring me that it will workout and not to worry that he will do everything in his hands to give me a baby! Seriously he says it to the point where I complelty believe him and put it in his hands. At first I was a little hesitant b/c I wanted him to just draw the plan and let my OB do the plan but he said nope I'm going to see you and I'm going to go all the way through and after you are prg then I'll send you back to your OB. I'm glad he did!!!

Best of luck hope whatever you decide will give you that BFP!!!

Thanks PR&TR13! Am really hoping she's going to refer me on so someone can give me some help. My previous docs and gyno said that there's none on my ovaries so therefore we'll have no probs conceiving but they don't have any explanation for the pain I'm always in and can't offer a solution. They also won't acknowledge that endo can cause fertility problems if it's not on your ovaries, but I've read so many sites and books that give loads of reasons why it can affect it.
Thanks for everyone's advice x x

So it went well and I'm so relieved! she was lovely and really understanding. At first she said maybe my gyno was right that I should go on hormone injections, but asked me to decide what was more important to me: getting pregnant or controlling the pain. I said the first one, so to cut a long story short, she's referring us on, and said we're nearly at the 12 month mark anyway. Having 21 day bloods done Monday evening and then got appt 2 weeks from then to be referred.
She said the NHS fertility have to see us within 18 weeks of the referral!!! Think we may decide to go private; that's a long time to wait! We both agreed that if I could get pregnant that it would help with the endo anyway.

So pleased that I feel like I've got somewhere.
Thanks to everyone for their help x x

so pleased you are on the road to getting it sorted. Good Luck

I have stage 2 endo. I had two laps, one hysteroscopy and 2 dyes. I always felt pain after my laps... Fortunately, stage 1-4... you CAN get pregnant. I had endo all through my stomach cavity including the ovaries. I had several cysts removed too... I did have to resort to IVF, but it eventually worked.

I have stuck to non dairy foods and protein shakes to help with the endo. I fo think the change in diet helped :) Endo definitely can be a factor in infertility. Your body secretes toxins into your body that trick you into early m/c. That is why IVF works so well wirh endo patients.

Good luck!! Everyone is different, so you could easily be one that gets preggo on your first round of clomid :)

Hey bebecake- Congrats of ur BFP. Just wanted to clarify- do u have stage 2 endo currently as in after the Lap or was it stage 2 before the Lap. I ask this cos I had stage 4 endo diagnosed which was reduced to stage 2 during Lap. Doc cud not remove the endo on intestines and bowel as thats a specialized surgery. I decided to go on with an IVF without the hormone treatment and hoping this IVF works otherwise i will have to be on hormone treatment.

Thanks Bebecake. I cut out wheat for about 10 days and only had 1 day of pain, which was a massive improvement, however the last 5 days it's come back and quite painful. Changed to goat's cheese and goat's milk, but think I'm still eating some dairy here and there x What kind of protein shakes are you having?... x
