hi.
i'm new on here.

i was diagnosed with pelvic inflammatory disease, and shortly after found out i had endometriosis.

i had the laproscopy done to remove the endometriosis, and just had three small spots. but i can't get pregnant for the life of me and i'm about to turn 20..

a little too early for infertility! i also have irregular periods.
so i'm not sure what the reason for no pregnancy is...
but my question-
if i just had the three small spots, would that actually cause me to be infertile?

Hi

I doubt if 3 small spots would cause infertility. When were you diagnosed and how long have you been TTC? Ive heard you are most fertile for the 6 months after the Lap operation so maybe give it a bit more time. Your still very young so I wouldnt start panicking yet. It can take a normal healthy couple up to 2 years to concieve so give yourself a bit more time. The problem might not even be with you - it could be your partners sperm.

we've been ttc on and off for about a year.
and i do panic, all the time! ha.

my husband's so positive, though.
i was really doubting the endometriosis is the problem. i think it's just the irregular periods. but who knows?

we haven't checked his sperm yet, but he's a 20 year old male...
could he really be that bad off?

he is probably fine too - unless he's a heavy drinker or smoker - but still he's young so might not even cause a problem.

I know its easy to say dont panic, easier said than done - i know all about it.

In another few months why dont you got to the Dr and tell him you;ve been trying for a while and just wanted to get your bloods checked out.

Are you charting your temp and using OPK's? That will help determine if your ovulating (before you go speak to a dr you should do this). That way if it appears your not then you can tell the Dr this.

Having PID - can cause damage to your tubes - but if you had the lap they should know whether that was the case or not. But definitely you need to check out the sperm... you could be worrying over nothing.

Irregular periods may also mean that you are not regulary ovulating. Ask the doc to test you for that. Considering you were able to get a lap done - I would assume they would be willing to do all of the other tests.

Hi,

They're not entirely sure how endo causes infertility (sometimes you can have it moderately and still conceive) but my surgeon said it was something to do with hormonal levels.

That aside, you've had it removed so, if endo was the problem, you should be able to get PG. We had our first BFP after trying for 4 years seven months after the op.

I don't know anything about PID and any implications that could have on fertility - sorry.

All the best of luck.
