Hi there,
I was diagnosed with and treated for endometriosis in Nov 2008. I had painful, though clockwork regular, periods and we had been ttc for 4 years. My doctor(s) were very keen to push me in the direction of IVF before even discussing the possibility of endo. Then I saw a new doctor when we moved and she suggested, as I had thus far failed to conceive, that I should be investigated. Luckily my medical insurer agreed (eventually) and I had my lap performed by a very skilled surgeon. He excised moderate endo. Seven months later I conceived naturally and gave birth to a beautiful boy in March 2010. 16 months after that, I conceived naturally again (after ceasing breastfeeding) and am currently 17 weeks pregnant.
IMHO, anyone with unexplained infertility should be investigated for endometriosis, since it can present with few or zero symptoms.
All the best x
