My baby is really sick and usually throws up almost all of her bottle, sometimes she just keeps throwing up for hours after and when she last got weighed she had lost weight. They have givin us enfamil ar to use but she is struggling to take it,i dont know if its abit 2 thick for her to get out or if she doesnt like but she just sucks for ages and hardly gets anything out.and when she does manage to take some she is still throwing it back up.

Has anyone else had these problems with enfamil? or has any suggestions of what we can do?

have you tried changing teats? Lucy has enfamil ar for her reflux and when we first got it she couldn't get anything out, so we now use avent variable teats for thicker liquids

I think it's similar to the SMA Staydown I used for Macy.

Have you followed the instructions properly - I'm not sure but with the Staydown it HAD to bed made with water that had been boiled and then cooled down to very cold in the back of the fridge. You then had to roll the bottle, not shake it or it would just go too lumpy and thick. I had no problems heating it up.

We also had to go up a teat size and poke a slit in the teat with a clean knife as it just wouldn't come out otherwise, it did great for the projectile vomiting though!

that's all exactly correct, although we make Lucy's bottles up with boiled water that's cooled down to room temperature and Lucy takes her bottles at that temperature, if enfamil is made up with even remotely 'warm' water it'll just go lumpy and stick in the teat

my daughter is taking enfamil ar for her reflux and you definitely need to go up a teat size and make bottles with cold boiled water. Grace still brings up some bottle sometimes but isnt in pain anymore.

As the other girls have said, you may need to go up a teat size. The enfamil AR needs to be made up with previously boiled water which is cool. Also, roll the bottle in your hands rather than shaking it. I had the same probs when Amy was put on it, but realised it was because I was using lukewarm water. Hope you get sorted hun xx

I had to go up a teeth size with enfamil ar and also making it up with cooled water helps it not clump together.
