engagement rings lol

so me and my OH got engaged 2 weeks ago..
he asked me to marry him and got me a ring obviously lol
so i felt bad not getting him one and went to the jewelers today asking where the mens engagement rings were and the man was like no men dont have them lol
i thought he was joking but is it really true you dont buy a man one?
i even called a women over that was working their incase he was having a laugh with me but she was like no its true lol but i feel so bad for not having 1 to give him

then the man come up to me and said if a man is seen wearing 2 rings on that finger it means they have had a gay marriage..lol

couldnt i buy him a normal ring that he could put on that finger or would that just be stupid?x

Ive never ever known a man to have an engagement ring lol!
If you look at any married mans hand, he only has a wedding band, where the bride will have an engagment ring and a wedding band!

Never heard the thing about gay marriage though!

i thought maybe he could wear just one on that hand and take it off when we did get married so he would only have one ring either way but if men dont ever wear a ring on that finger other than the wedding band i suppose he might look stupid lool x

nopeee men aren't sposed to wear a ring, even if the woman proposes, the man should buy the ring - but heyy.. rules are changing, it's just an old tradition - you do what you want!!

Lol I never knew it was odd to buy him one after reading everyone else's replies!
Yeah he wore it on his wedding finger, it was just a silver ring with a little tribal design on it, was prety cheap but he liked it lol!
I've still got it now actually, he wouldn't let me keep the engagement ring he bought me haha.
I think it's a nice thought if you want to!

Everyone is different. I mean traditionally, men don't wear one. But you can be unique right? When FOB and I were engaged, I bought him one. It was simple gold with 3 tiny diamonds on it for past present future.

this is the same one. just a picture i got off google. its made of tungsten and its virtually impossible to scratch. though it can take chunks out of glass so theyre good on men as they stay in good shape.

My fiancé wears an engagement ring!
I mean, yes, people see it and presumed he's married, but hey, I'm okay with that because that tells the other girls to back off! You should definitely go get him one! He doesn't necessarily have to wear both on his finger when you guys' get married, he could switch hands but I don't think it says "gay marriage". Obviously if he's holding your hand, haha! My fiancé and I are actually doing something strange. I don't like the idea of wearing 2 rings and we both have silver rings right now so when we get married we are both getting gold and we are doing something special with our rings. Probably frame them. I know lots of married women who only have one ring because they chose too or couldn't afford it so I don't feel bad wearing only one ring. But it's totally up to you!
