I posted this 3 weeks ago

Hi some advice would be greatly appreciated, have two children 9 & 8 so pregnancy feels yonks away, but anyhow last week was 7 wks pregnant and had some pink discharge this only when wiping then stopped for two days followed by equally small amount brown discharge again only on wiping (sorry if tmi!!!) anyway we are away from home so went to nearby hospital where had endovaginal scan showed one clear sac with heartbeat but consultant said possible 2nd sac dont know if blood clot or 2nd baby unable to tell. also not able to tell if might miscarry, I,ve had no further bleeding and no pain at all but am very concerned, got to have another scan in another week #

since then

Well lots changed since last post,I did return for 2nd scan, heartbeat had stopped turns out was blood clot not 2nd sac, ended up having ERPC next day which was one week ago today, feel empty and tearful but have overwhelming need to be pregnant again,is this normal?

I have pains still niggling not severe, is this normal?
Only bled for about 2 days lightly mostly on wiping none since
when might I ovulate?
how long does hcg take to return to 0
would ERPC have removed blood clot aswell?

if anyone has similar experience please help feel real low at present

hey hunni i can only answer a few of the questions as i only no answers to a few..

yes its natural to wanna be pregnant again.. i always wanted to get pregnant staright after, for sum its the right time for some it isnt.

yes you will get some aches and pains still.
ovulation is unknown.. only ovulation kits can help with that as some peoples period comes back straight away and some dont return for a few months.

i have never had a erpc, but iv had 4 m/c all naturally.
im sorry 4 your loss hunni. take time for yourself and your family. let your body heal
xxxxxxxx

Sorry for your loss hun :hugs:

It is very normal to feel the urge to be pregnant straight away as it is a biological urge you are feeling right now for your body to replace the pregnancy it has lost :hugs: but it would be a good idea to let yourself recover properly before trying again.

It is normal to have slight pain & bleeding for a week afterwards - the ERPC will have removed everything that was in your womb so the blood clot will have gone now :hugs:

I don't know exactly how long the HCG remains in your system but it wont be very long so you should ovulate sometime over the next 3 weeks. it would be wise to wait until you have had at least 1 period before trying again tho hun
 xx

My heart goes out to you. I'm feeling the same constant need to get pg again after an mc 5 weeks ago, which is totally normal (then again so is not wanting to!).

I didn't need an erpc this time but had a D&C 7 years ago (@ about 11 weeks) I didn't have much pain afterwards, just mild period pains for a few days although I bled for about a week afterwards but I guess everyone is different. Just be sure to go to the doctors if you have pain, fever or start bleeding heavily incase of infections.

You might ovulate again in this cycle or it could take a month or two to get back to your normal cycle, mc can delay ovlation so it can take 6 weeks or more to get your next AF.
I've carried on charting and using OPKs this month to check if I'm ovulating but haven't had a positve yet (I'm CD22 today) although my temp has risen so I'm not really sure either way! I found that charting has helped me to stay positive and think about the future - we're planning on trying in my next cycle so I'm just hoping I actually start ov'ing again.

After my mc I had a scan 5 days after starting bleeding to check everything was going as it should, then I had to go back for pregnancy tests until they got a definate negative (on a 5miU test kit). It was 10 days after I started bleeding when I finally got the negative, so I guess it would take a little longer to get a 0hcg reading in a blood test.

Just make sure you take care of yourself and take enough time to come to terms with your loss.

I am very sorry :hugs:, I had a erpc on 5th aug and cried non stop for about 2 weeks, I only bleed for a few hours and had the niggling pains too. All I think about is being preg again, its like an obsession in a way. I hope you are feeling better soon and good luck getting pregnant again. ps. I only ovulated this week, narly 5 wks later, but everyone is different, yours might be sooner xx

I'm so sorry hun. My heart is aching just reading this post. It is truly unfair.

The desire that you're feeling to have another baby is completly normal. I really miss being pregnant, and wish that I was having a baby soon. But, I'm not. Not yet, atleast. I have developped a bit of an obsession with pregnancy, and hope to have children in the very near future. This November would have been perfect.

I thought after my miscarriage that I would like to know what sex the baby was. I even attempted to call the hospital to find out. Was given the surgeon's office number, called, but it was after hours. I thought that it would help me to know who I was grieving, a boy or a girl. But in all reality (after a long talk with my husband) I realized that it wouldn't really matter, probably just make me more upset (even though we didn't care when I was pregnant, what sex the child would have been). I felt a need to put a face to the baby.

You will certainly still have pains, if this only happened a week ago. This is brought on because of the surgery and your uterus contracting back. :hugs: You are going to be an emotional wreck too, and that's okay, you are grieving the loss of your child.

If you only bled for a couple days, lucky you, that's completly normal. Mine was much longer and really painful. Turned out that i still had retained products leftover with an infection. (needed a second d&c for same pregnancy). If your bleeding has stopped, and you're not in severe pain, I would have to assume that your clot would/should have been removed as well. But I'm not a doctor, if you are unsure ask next time you are in, they may want to send you for a scan, just to be sure.

My doctor told me to have bloodwork done in order to track my bhcg levels back to zero. I believe that this took two to three weeks. Not entirely too sure, as I was a complete wreck trying to explain to the staff, each time I was there, that I wasn't pregnant, had just had a miscarriage.

My period arrived 30 days after my first d&c. Now my body has decided that I'll get my period every 31 days instead of 28?

Again I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, if you need to talk feel free to pm me. Take care hun

I had a natural m/c in Jan and mm/c in May so I had an ERPC on 16th May. I then had my af 35 days later on June 20th and then got pg again in the following cycle so I am nearly 12 weeks now. I know how you feel, it's empty feeling that hurts so much. You feel robbed of the baby and need to be pregnancy again juts to get that feeling back, I understand totally. I bled for 10 days after and had pains for a few days too hun so it is all normal.

As for oving well I know women can get pregnanct the first month after a m/c so they never have an af but you would need to test to find out when you do hun.

I am sorry for your loss and hope your time comes again soon enough xxx

Did you end up having any complications with your future pregnancies due to the infection?? any scarring? I'm miscarrying and considering doing a DnC but I'm very very wary about the risks.

I don't know hun, sorry. My miscarriage just happened in May, this was my first and only pregnancy. The doctor has told me that I shouldn't have any problems conceiving again, this was just "sh*t luck" I guess. We should be trying now, but with an upcoming catscan booked, we can't yet. Only time will tell. Good luck hun and so sorry to hear of losses. :hugs:

Hi Ladies, This is my first time writing on the web like this and must say it is extremely comforting to know that I am not alone. My best wishes go out to all of you WTTC and TTC.

Toteach, your story is the closest I have come in all my searching to the same situation as mine. I two had to have two ERPCs for the same pregnancy.

I went for my 13 week scan. I was told I was carring a baby boy. We got to see him in a 4D scan and he was sucking his thumb (they can normally only do this at 16 weeks, or so the books say). He then did the nuchal fold test. It should have been under 0.3 but instead it was 0.86, to make matters worse the left side of his heart had not developed. We were told he would not survive past 6 months in the womb and so we would have to terminate the pregnancy. On Monday 4th August 2008 I had my first ERPC. I bled heavily for about 4 days and then continued to bleed for a further 3 and a half weeks. On the 1st September I went to work in a complete state and could not stop crying. I knew I was morning but I was out of control. I went another gynea for a second opinion as to what was happening to me and why was I still bleeding. He discovered a large portion of the placenta was still inside me and my cervix was still open. I was rushed in for an emergency second ERPC that evening. The bleeding the second time round was only 2 days and then light spotting for another week. I saw him for a check up on Friday 5th September since I needed to know that he had managed to get everything out. He then told me that during the operation he had taken a blood test and 4 weeks after my first ERPC my HCG count was a whopping 124,000 when it should have been 0. He said he suspected the pregnancy may have turned into a Molar Pregnancy and in which case I would need chemo. I had to wait until Monday 15th September, two weeks after the op to go and get my next HCG count. I was so stressed but......it came back 8.5.
Like all you ladies, I can't wait to be pregnant again and I am also extremely obsessed. The doctor doesn't think I am going to ovulate this month and said even if I do, my lining is to thin to hold a pregnancy but we are doing what married people do and if it is meant to be it will be and if not.....I hope it won't be to damn long until my period comes back so I can start charting and TTC.
If anyone else has had to go through two ERPC and has an idea of how long it could take for AF to come back please let me know. It is only 3 weeks since my second ERPC but hoping she will be here this weekend.
