So my OH and I decided to go to this indian reseveration tonight to pick up some cigarettes (they're MUCH cheaper there) and we decided to leave Max with my sister who is 17. We left him with her because the sun was starting to set and that's when it's really hard to see the deer and I didn't want to bring him with us incase we DID hit a deer (which we didn't, nor have we ever, but you never know...).

We got home and she said Max was really good yadda yadda. She said he ate a lot. I had made him a bottle before we left which had like...4 oz in it. She said she fed him that but he was still hungry so she made him another bottle...I asked her how much she made and she said she filled the bottle almost up (9oz bottle). I then asked her how much formula she put in and she said 2 scoops. OBVIOUSLY that is NOT correct (should've been 4.5 scoops). I didn't get mad at her because I should've left some type of instructions so it's kind of my fault. :dohh:

ANYWAYS...is this going to make him sick?? He ate 3 oz of it.

It shouldn't make him sick....it can be dangerous IF it happened all the time or he drank a bunch of it because it could be too much water for him.

Should be fine this one time, but yes, all the time and he would not be getting the proper nutrition. Couldn't she read the package? I would be so mad

Mmmm watery formula.. what a treat for him! Not that I think it's a gourmet meal even when it's properly prepared

OH's mum made up formula wrong before and gave it to Elyse (they have powder at their place, I use concentrate).. she fussed and didn't eat very well.. but she was fine.

Cigarettes are cheaper at our reserves too :)

I don't think it'll hurt him this once.

agree with the others, it shouldn't hurt him this one time. It is dangerous if done over an extended period as the baby isn't getting all the nutrients he needs, but once won't hurt him :)

yum yum yum

it wont hurt him might give him
runny poo but thats about it lol
its only over a long period that
its dangerous :hugs:

You did so well not to say anything. I'd have killed her.

However that said it wont hurt, he may have a bit of runny poo for a day or so. Just make sure that you tattoo the instructions to her next time. :hugs:

I did mention that to her...I was like "It says on the back what to do...just like normal food" and she said she didn't even think to check.

My OH is furious, though! He keeps saying only an idiot doesn't check. I understand that he's mad, I just don't think he has the right to be MEAN about it. He acts as if he's never made a mistake in his life (yeah...right  )
