Well i cant belive im finally wrigting my birth story and i cant belive how well it all went i had such a great experiance and it was so differnt from my first birth it still hasnt quite sunck in,
To start with here's some back ground as to my last pregnacey I was backwards and forwards from hospital with suspected pre e and it was decided I would be induced on my due date, I had a rough birth with Sophie starting with a long induction and ended in a vontuce delivery and 3rd degree tear. I wanted so much to avoid induction this time and was pleased my bp stayed semi stable this time,
At 38 weeks I was allowed to book into the birth suite as my bp had been stable so I was extatic now it was just a case of encouraging little lady out on her own, I waited patently and was getting frustrated I was still pregnant at 41 weeks,
So.....
Tuesday 30th October came I was exactly 41weeks, I woke up as normal and I was looking froward to my midwife appt and s&s that afternoon as I was determind to make it successful, as I got myself dressed I noticed my hands and feet were puffy and I felt a bit rubbish, I took my bp and it was very high. after MIL fussing she convinced me to ring midwife and check i was ok to wait until my appt at 3 to make sure everything was ok, the mw moved my appt forward to 12 so I didn't have to wait as long incase somthing was wrong, at this point I have resigned myself that they are bound to induce me again and got myself prepared for the same experience as last time, when we got to the appt all turned out to be fine and my bp had gone back down.
the mw did a s&s and said I was favourable and 2cm and she could feel baby's head, she booked me in for an appt on thurs just incase but she seem confident it would work, hubby decided as he had already told work he might not be back he would stay home for the afternoon in case things started, we had dinner and when Sophie woke from her nap we went for a monster 2hour walk. all the way around I was having pains which were manageable but i had to concentrate on them a bit, we got all excited n started planning for the night, when we got home we had tea and I was desperate for a bath, I jumped in and emidately regretted my decision everything stopped! I was gutted and retuned down stairs in a grump and bounced on my ball. at 9.30 I got fed up and went to bed then at 10.30 I was woken pains had started again
. I came down and got hubby and suggested he should try n get some sleep. I tossed and truned untill 12 n came back down stairs. Hubby sat staring at me for half an hour n said its probably time to call my mum (my other birthing partner) and MIl (our childcare) we also rang birth suite but I still felt fine in between contractions so said we would stay at home for a bit, everyone arrived in 10mins n it was decided (between them) we should go in, we arrived at the birth suite at 2am and I was given my room. not long after probably 15/20mins I felt a pop and my waters go. Hubby ran me a bath n got i in and had gas and air. I still felt fine and able to have a normal conversation inbetween contractions but the pain was getting stronger. I then decided I needed to push so we moved to the mats, as i wanted to squat but the midwife wouldnt let me in the bath. At this point I hadn't even been checked to see how far dallied I was as we hadnt been there that long and wasn't sure if I was allowed to push but the mw told me to do what I felt, i gave up with gas and air as it wasnt doing anything and after 4 or 5 pushes Evelyn was born at 4.05, and i then delivered the placenta natually after 15mins, I can't believe how quick it all was and how fine I felt I between contractions, I had a small tear which the mw stitched as it wasnt straight, we were left in our room untill 10 in that time I had a bath n got dressed then we moved to a discharge room where we basically sat looking at each other untill they let us go at 3.30, the whole thing went exactly how I wanted and couldn't have asked for anything more, Sophie met Evelyn as soon as we got in and she seems to have excepted her.
Thanks for reading sorry it was so long![Smile :) :)](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
