I still haven't determined the cause of my 2 MCs. We're doing some tests, but in the meantime, I figure it can't hurt to consider a hormone issue as the cause.
I ordered some USP progesterone cream (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GFJJHY/ref=ox_ya_oh_product) and most of what I read is its positive effects for post-menopause.

Anyone try one of these creams for pregnancy support, or during the TWW?

Thanks!

If you are already pregnant chances are it will not increase your chances of continuing the pregnancy. But could be helpful if TTC. You should talk to your doctor about using this after pregnancy has been established. Besides it gives you hot flashes and has some nasty side effects. So you won't wanna keep taking it any longer than needed.

I used wellsprings progesterone cream for the first time with this sticky little fighter of mine.

You use it after ovulation until AF arrives, if AF arrives.

If you get your BFP, do you continue the cream through the first trimester?
Thanks!

You sure do, I did until about week 6 (you can take it until week 12) since most of my MC were around week 5. Along with the cream I was taking vitamin B6 100mg (not the complex), so this increase progesterone too. Since my :bfp: I switched the B6 to the B complex.

I believe this has helped my fighter stick :)

Thanks for the information. I'm starting the cream as soon as it arrives tomorrow, I've been drinking red raspberry leaf tea, and have been continuing the prenatals and 5000 IU of D3, along with a baby aspirin (and the synthroid, which I always take). I hope I'm not overdoing it! As far as I can tell, there are no negative interactions between any of these.

No way, I'm on thyroxine too as I had my thryoid removed in Dec 06. I also take the following:

75mg Aspirin (as per consultant)
Clexane (as per consultant, daily injections)
Steriods (as per consultant)
B complex with 400mg folic acid
400 mg of folic acid (helps the red blood cells hence taking 800mg per day)
Vitamin C 1000mg

And as you know I took the progesterone cream along with B6 prior to my :bfp: This baby is a little fighter as I had a biopsy of my womb at 7dpo to find out the following day I was pregnant, so it's a miricle that it's still here.

how far on are you?

hi firstly just want to say congrats and wishing a happy and healthy pregnancy.
just want to ask you a couple of question of the cream, how often does you use the cream during they day and from what cycle day till when

thanks

I read that progesterone cream is pretty much safe as long as it is all natural and not synthetic. Red Raspberry Leaf tea on the other hand maybe not so much. Here is something I read somewhere else:

"The more radical stance is that drinking one cup of tea per day in the 1st trimester and 2 cups in the 2nd trimester and switching to the infusion in the 3rd trimester ensures a strong uterus, is good for you nutritionally and prevents miscarriage. Some say it is advised to not use it in the first trimester, particularly if you have a history of miscarriage.

The more conservative stance is that red raspberry leaf can cause minor spotting in the beginning of a pregnancy, and some U.K. midwives claim an increase in miscarriage rates. Contact your midwife, herbalist or physician for more information. If you're thinking about using it, to be safe, just wait until you're 36 weeks along."

Eek! There's so much contradictory information out there. I think I'm better off doing pretty much nothing! I haven't had any of the red raspberry leaf tea this month. I'm on CD 11 and was going to start having a cup a day, but I guess I won't now. I'm on my baby aspirin, taking prenatals, but I guess that's it. Perhaps I'll still use the progesterone cream, too, after I ovulate...hmm. It can't hurt, right? (or can it??? argghh)

I know I'm reviving an old thread, but I have a question about progesterone cream if anyone knows..

I started taking 1 tsp a day after I got my BFP. How long should I continue this?

And what parts of my body are best for absorbtion and how should I rotate them? e.g. arms, belly, legs, bum, back?

Now that I've started taking it I'm a bit worried I'm not going to do it right.

I also don't know how much is in the bottle (as in how it is concentrated) and I can't find the info for my brand online, either. I guess I'll just assume the amount I'm taking is a good amount (as I had my progesterone tested today and 2 days ago and both are fine).

Thanks!

I used a progesterone cream the cycle I fell pregnant with this one. I did 1 tsp in the morning on my upper chest -- I read that areas that flush easily have more blood vessels near the surface and are better for absorption. I wasn't sure how concentrated the cream was, but was following the directions as indicated (1 tsp daily). I used it after my positive OPK and until 12 weeks.

That's useful, thank you!

The nurse I spoke to said to just 'continue what I'm doing' but of course I wanted more direction than that, haha!

What brand did you use? Do you know if it was from yams? Mine is and is called Natural Woman Progesterone Cream.

I'm wondering if my good progesterone blood results are a result of the cream or not. It's hard to know if it's even working since I have no comparison.

I read it doesn't help if taken after a BFP, as well, and I didn't start it until after my BFP.

Oh well, I'm assuming it can't hurt.
