EWCM just before AF?

I'm not charting my BBT yet, will start next cycle but I'm trying to start understanding things a little more now.

My cervix feels very low and soft, and I've got milky EWCM and I'm convinced AF is only a few days away. My cycles have been very irregular, I thought I had OV this cycle but I'm still learning. Anyway... Is this normal? Is it a sign AF is coming? It's the EWCM that has confused me!

I think you can get ewcm anytime in your cycle, everyone is different. I get a good few days before o an sometimes I get some before af but lots of women seem to get it after af and before BFPs! Why is ttc as clear as mud!?

hey hun,

i got ewcm type stuff at 8dpo and read people had got it around this time past ovulation ang to their bfps a week later.!
i havent ever seen this before even when i was calculated to ovulate.

im hoping for us both its a BFP!

iv now got this weird pain in my left ovary going to the middle where my uterus is, god its so painful when i push or even cough or move to the right i can feel it, and im 2 days away from AF super nervous praying this is a good sign!

You can get ewcm all throughout your cycle, it's usually due to an estrogen surge. It's common to get ewcm right after AF, before ov, about a week after ov and right before AF/BFP. It's normal. Best to BD everytime you see it though, just in case... even if you think you've already ovulated because sometimes the body can try to ov and fail xx

I got this five days before AF and 9 days DPO... Started AF last night... I really thought i was gonna get a bfp because i had never had it before.. Super bummed, maybe things will turn out diff for you! GL! Baby dust!

I normally get clear/watery a few days before AF. It is because if not pregnant your progesterone levels fall.

gingersnaps, it doesn't always mean AF though hun. I got a ton of it before my BFP, but I've also gotten a ton right before AF... It could go either way. Hope it's your bfp!! Let us know any updates xx

I didn't say it always means AF - I said progesterone falls before AF - which causes watery/clear discharge for some people - ie estrogen has risen prog fallen.
In pregnancy it is different as you have a different mixture of prog and est.

I always get clear watery cm 2/3 days before AF and it used to confuse me as it looked like fertile cm.
