EWCM question - please answer :)

Hi ladies,

I am just about to start a new cycle - I started spotting today and AF will arrive tonight/tomorrow. All tests have been BFN!

I have a question about EWCM - I am wondering if mine is too thick? Each month, it is VERY thick and almost blob like - it comes out in huge globs and I am wondering if that means it is too thick. It is always clear and very abundant though. This past cycle, I took mucinex to thin it out and I had almost none compared to what I normally had and it was really, really thin. What should I do??

Please give me some advice!!! HELP PLEASE!

Nope, the thicker the better! It acts as a ladder for the sperm to climb into your cervix. Thick is good

Sorry what I meant to say is my cm is never in globs I guess it is a good idea for me to use the preseed and see what happens. I'm on cd9 best of luck and baby dust to you!

Yeah don't do the mucinex if you have good CM already. I actually don't think anyone should do it, but thats my opinion. Taking medication when you are not sick or having something wrong just seems like it could mess up with your body.

However some natural things are green tea and evening primrose oil.

Sorry but I've been reading about this all day because I think I may have "hostile cervical mucus" which is basically the EWCM being too thick. Apparently EPO tablets, grapefruit juice and drinking lots of water can help thin it out a little without being too drastic. I'm not going anywhere near the cough mixture method though because I agree with Heather on that one. There's also a supplement called FertileCM which apparently is good for thinning it out a little to help the swimmers and I plan on getting that next cycle if it doesn't work out this month.

All the fertility websites describe perfect EWCM as being thin and slippery and mine has always been really thick and glob like so I know there's something I need to fix.

Its supposed to be glob like though. Thats why its called egg white CM. Its supposed to look like uncooked egg whites and have the same consistency.

I know, but whenever I've cracked open an egg to compare, the egg white has always been clear and fairly runny if that's the right word to describe it. I definitely know my CM looks nothing like raw egg whites. My EWCM looks as if there's a bouncy ball on my finger Practically solid sometimes! But bear in mind I'm describing myself here, not everyone else's xx
