Do you have to have EWCM to be able to get pregnant?

I am not sure if I have any during O time.... I know before and after I have white creamy cm

Sorry for the dumb question... Just trying to figure out why nothing has happened after 8 months of trying... going on Month 9 now

Hi! We are in month 9 here so I feel your pain. And I never get EWCM....from what I've read tons of ladies have been able to conceive without the presence of EWCM....

Have you tried Preseed? It's supposed to mimic EWCM, so we use that in my fertile window.

No we haven't tried anything... I'm afraid too because it is *cough cough* wet enough down there... (embarrassing... )

It sounds like you have some fertile CM if you feel very wet. I get what feels like too much EWCM, it's copious and I feel like a slimey snail! So bad I need liners, and it lasts for a week at least.

It never helped me conceive anyway as it took us 8 years.

i don't know what else we need to do to be able to get a sticky bean.... last month I knew I was out because we only did it once around O time but every other month we do it like almost every day.

My Dr wont do anything yet because we haven't been trying for a year

It only takes 1 sperm....doing it more doesn't guarantee a bfp.

You only have a 20% chance each cycle so try and remember that when you get discouraged!

If you feel wet I'd say your okay.

I am on cycle 12 so know exactly how you feel as I've been where you are!

After 6 months I had a major acne breakout, so started yoga and having weekly massages as I think the whole TTC thing was stressing me out too much.

After 8 months I got drunk around some colleagues and had a major breakdown in front if them :haha:

After 10 months I was considering going private to get tests done (but soon realised it would cost a small fortune!).

Then after 11 months, this cycle, I've started acupuncture to see if that helps.

Like you - I knew the doc wouldn't do anything until after 12 months. So instead after 10 months my hubby went to his GP and just lied saying it had been 12 months and was giving a little pot to do his semen analysis in, and we got the results back 1 week later...all normal.

So if I were you id get your hubby to get tested first. A mans tests are much quicker and less evasive than ours!

I have been to docs this month (lied and said it had been 12months when really 11) and the referral time to a specialist in my area is 3 months but in the meantime my doc has said she'll do blood tests to check my hormone levels and thyroid etc whilst I'm waiting for my referral. I had my 1st blood test done last week and now waiting for the results!

So if you need a whinge or moan you know where I am! :)

Xx

About a month and a half ago we were at his parents place having a few drinks (well I have waaaaay more then a few!) and I was completely wasted cause I thought that was the month we had success and I actually ended up starting AF while we were there. So on the way home I was so drunk I broke down and lost it :( I balled my eyes out the whole way home and was going on about how I am a failure, I cant even give you kids like you want, why are you staying with me if I cant give you what you want etc... it was bad :(

Last month wasn't so bad because I knew I was out, we didn't do it enough around O time.

This time I have it all planned out and he knows when my fertile time is and it down with the plan :)

I really do have to say, he has been soooo great and supportive throughout this whole TTC journe. He's been my rock :)

I can so relate to you. :haha:

No-one knows we are TTC so after around 6/7 months I went to get a massage done as thought it might help me de-stress (as AF had just showed) and I broke down in front of the masseuse, a complete stranger! :Haha:

It will happen eventually for the both of us, I'm sure! I'm just so impatient though and want it now!!! :haha:

That's good your hubby is supportive! Mine is too which is nice. We had a bit of a heart to heart the other week when we went out for a meal and after a few glasses of wine! Turns out he didn't know how the how conception works so I had to explain what ovulation is, when/where the sperm meets the egg, how long my eggs live for, what implantation is etc. it was quite funny. I don't know why but just assumed he knew.

FX'd for both of us this month!

I know what you mean, I just assumed he knew how it all worked as well LOL

He thought that after I O'd I would get AF a few days later lol. I have to explain to him that no, AF will usually come 2 weeks after that, depending if I get pregnant or not.

He wants a baby just as bad as I do so he is all there with me. He just laughed when i told him I bought 120 pregnancy test lol He thought it was funny

I just don't know how I would bring up to him about getting the sperm analysis done... I don't want to insult him and make him think that it is his fault or anything

A sperm analysis is recommended when you reach a year of TTC with no success. Not conceiving after a year of trying is the definition of infertility. So it is "just what you do" after 1 year, not an opinion about his manhood. So bring it up like that. When I told my husband he was okay with it and more than willing. I am sure most men who want to have a baby would be the same way. It also makes him feel like he is doing something to help since so far I have been the one to do all the appointments, ultrasounds, charting, temping, etc.... So maybe wait until you reach a year but bring it up now so he is prepared for it. I shared some youtube videos and articles about sperm analysis with my husband to help him with the idea as well. And if you haven't already make an appointment with your doctor to get checked out (they will do a couple basic blood tests like prolactin and thyroid hormone levels) and ask questions.

Ive been to my doctor and talked to her about it and she did nothing. I get blood work done regularly because I have an underactive thyroid that I am on meds for and it is perfect while I am on the meds. I am just wondering if this is working against me...

I have paperwork to get it done again... wonder if I could just check what I need off and get it done lol

I've read thyroid problems can cause fertility issues. Maybe try doing some research into it and then go back to your dr.
