(Ex named his Dog my Lo's Name! UGH!

I just found out that my ex named his dog my baby's name! His Dog's name is Leah Alise... I so wish he were joking but his mother confirmed it today. I eventually settled on the name Caylee but it seems like this is going to be the common name of this year since the Caylee Anthony Trail situation. Now I'm comfused! I love the name Caylee and I've become use to talking to her since I can't have the name Leah I get induced Thursday... I don't know if I should keep the name I have or try to figure something else out

Does it really matter if the dog has the same name if he is your ex?
My dog is called Kiera but thats what she was called when we got her, my eldest is called Kieran,can be handy cause at least when i shout Kieran and he ignores me the dog comes lol xx

What about going in a slightly different direction and using Calleigh if you are concerned because of the whole trial thing.. or just go with the name you want and realize that no child would know about that trial and in a few more months some other crazy trial will start or some other murderer will be on the loose and it'll be old news.

That being said and done, I haven't picked my twins names yet.. kinda makes me a hypocrite

Did he know that you were planning on using that name?

I wouldn't worry about it. Every time DH and I settle on a name someone else pinches it or we meet someone new by the same name... we've come to the point now where we have settled on our names and that is it now.

My ex is my fob so he knew what he was doing. he thought it was funny. i was researching the name Caylee and it said Kayli was the most uncommon way to spell her name i was thinkin about changing the spelling.

Seems like more documentable grounds for making sure he isn't part of LO's life and/or you are in the driver's seat for custody and controlling visitations... I think your ex might be crazy.

I like Caylee or Kayli, but I also like Leah When she's born you might decide that she's more of a Leah than a Kayli, or go with something slightly different too, like Kayleen or something. Don't let your ex influence your decision on what name to pick; if you end up sticking with Leah he'll just have to change his dog's name or he'll be the one to look like a jerk.

Yea I agree, he was being a jerk and probably assumed he'd ruin the name you love on you- don't let him. Is it even likely he'll have the dog long term? I mean, with his track record I would be surprised if he could even manage holding onto a pet of any sort. I say if you still love the name Leah, use it!

How about Lena or Leia instead? Leah is a lovely name (I am biased though, it's DD's name).
