any advice on what has worked best for your little one.

Iv beent he docs 3 times now.

first time he gave us canesten as the rash on her face had gotten a bit infected.....she reacted to this and it went worse

he also gave us aqueous cream for the rest of her body, she aso reacted to this and it went worse on her arms

Second time he gave us a cream with anti biotic in it and the face cleared up...not completely, she still has the excema dryness and rash

Also some diprobase and she isnt reacting to this, but she is still very rashy and very dry

she has excema on her face, sholdurs, arms, tummy, back and legs, so everyhwere basically :-(

Nothing seems to be getting rid of it, my poor baby constantly has a horrible rash worse on he face and arms.

Haver you guys found a miracle cure ?

xxxx

i'll upload some pics :hissy:

This was the rash on her face that got infected, it was weeping, the cream cleared up the redness, she now has dryness and a dotty rash. I'll get soem pics of her arms and body x

Hi my daughter suffers really badly from eczema, E45 made it worse and the dr prescribed hydrocortizone cream which didn't really do anything so they changed it to the hydrocortizone ointment which is a lot better as its very oily. We also find that leaving her skin bare when possible helps, just that and lots of moistureiser, we found that the diprobase is the only one that doesn't make her worse - persevere with it - oh also the gp prescribed oilatum bath emollient which works well but it does make them very slippery in the bath - it costs about £5 to buy but your gp should prescribe it x

Well I managed to clear my little ones eczema up.I found this all helped my baby =

Fuciden cream has a steriod in and has cleared up the fungal angry rash.I use Cetraben emolliant as I found diprobase rubbish.Timoden on the bum area, which was red and very angry looking. It has all cleared up lovely but I have to daily moistrise (sp)For her face I use Johnsons baby soothing naturals cream. It has olive oil in it and her face has cleared up no end.plus it smells yummy!I use non bio washing powder and softner,no wipes just cotton wool and water.I have changed her nappies to natural ones from Sainsburys and I also changed her formula from Cow and Gate to Aptimil. Also twice a week I bath her in oilatum emolliant. All creams and lotions are on prescription except Johnsons.I have to stick to this or it just flares right back up again.I have had Eczema my whole life. It's a miserable condition.

All the best hunnie xx

ooooo p.s as Charveyron says E45 was no good,I found this as it's got lanolin in it.try to avoid products with this in xx

thansk girls some good advice :) I forgot to mention I had used E45 and this made it worse....I was reluctant to use oilatum i thougth it might be similar to E45 but I'll give that a try.

The doc didnt seem keen on prescribing a steroid cream.

im seeing the HV tommorow see what she says.......ill try the johnsons naturals too... thanks xxx

my hv did most of the prescribing!!!

wasnt sure if they could pescribe things!! thats handy to know, much easier than going the docs as the baby clinic is down my road!

not sure if they can prescribe everything but she was ok to help me out!! good luck xx

Hiya :)

My doctor prescribed something to put in the bath and it helped loads! Im off to look what its called now...if i can find it.

Helena had horrible eczema that was so itchy she couldn't sleep. It was on her head, face, arms, tummy and thighs. It is pretty much gone now, but flares up a little bit on her face. I used a hydrocortisone cream on her face and some drops on her head. I bathe her every single day with olive oil in the water, and I use this soap on her every bath: https://www.rockymountainsoap.com/productList/1015197/1000144

I don't use the hydrocortisone anymore so I really think it is this soap that is clearing it up. I would give it a try!

My doctor gave me a paper on what to do:

Bathe every day, but just briefly. Use warm water, but not too hot as it will dry out the skin more. Always put oil in the water. Let your baby air dry, do not rub down with the towel. Use baby detergent for the clothes and do an extra rinse cycle if possible. Buy a cold air humidifier for her bedroom. (I did all of these things and her skin is clear now as you can tell by my signature!)

I thought of a couple more things that seemed to help:

Dress her in only 100% cotton clothing. Put mitts on her at night so she doesn't rub or scratch it. And I rub Helena in just plain old Vasoline before I put on her sleeper at night.

oilatum emolliant??

thanks girls, do you find it changes on a daily basis, i ran out of diprobase so not used anything past couple of days and her arms are alot less rashy, but alot more dry. her whole tummy and back are covered in a rash so Im guessing its the detergent, although I did change it, or maybe something in the material.

thanks wendino! Helena's skin looks lovely now, really clear and fresh xxx

Ollie has excema and I use Cetraben Emollient cream and Oilatum for his bath and found instant results with it. His skin is alot better x

been to the HV todaya dn she said to take her back to the drs, she said he may refer her to a skin specialist at the hospital, hopefully it will be sorted soon xx

Aww hugs to you both.Fingers crossed xx

I have found the "miracle cure". We tried all of the prescription creams on Owen...nothing worked! Then, a friend told me about a cream made by California Baby...it's called Calendula Cream. I am in the states and found it on-line at Target.com. However, there are many other places online that carry it. It took only 2 days to clear up Owen's skin...it's like magic:)....plus, it's less expensive than all of the prescriptions!
