hello. I've just had my 20 week scan and I'm having a baby boy!!!!!! i am so excited. He's so gorgeous and has loooooooooooong legs and big feet..like his mummy but seeing him so big and feeling him kicking has made me realise how real this actually is! and I now have THOUSANDS of questions! I was wondering how have any of you made friends in and around your area in simular situations? did you attend antenatal classes? or did you find they were mainly full of older mums? My biggest worry is that I'm not goin to find anyone to talk to in my area simular to me. please help! xxxx

Hiya lovely, congratulations on your little boy! Welcome to team blue hehe :D
Have left you a message on your profile, hopefully hear back from you soon!
x

To tell you the truth,I have great friends but none of them have babies and I still haven't made friends with any moms in my town.

I plan to attend a mom and baby group soon so hopefull I'll find someone to chat with there :)

You may have people very close to you from on here. Doesn't say where you're from so I'm not 100% sure. There is an section on here for local buddies, I know there's quite a few people within a 2 hour drive from where I am!!
Good luck on finding someone close by!!!
Congrats on your little boy, and welcome to team blue!! :)

I haven't taken any classes. But I know a girl who just turned 19 or is going to.. idk who is due 2-3 weeks after me. She lives in my town and used to go to my school. and my BD's ex gf has a baby, i talk to her quite a bit.

No close friends yet though.
Hopefully soon.
I can't seem to find any classes with younger girls, i guess its not too big of a thing around here.

I've got one friend from school around here who has a baby, shes one of the only mates i have left now. I speak to alot of great girls on here some who are not so far away so meeting with them is always an option.

I will be going to antenatal classes though, and hopefully to mum and baby clubs after! x

Ooh congratulations!!

I have tried to get in touch with the agency that runs the prenatal classes here but we've been playing phone tag for 3 weeks, even though I gave them my email and contacted them initially by email :hissy: ...

I found that as soon as it kind of "went public" that I was pregnant every mum under the sun from work, school, etc. started talking to me a lot more and wanted to help & give me advice.

Thankyou for all your replies- I'm from Sheffield :) if anyone is close by? i've booked myself onto a mother and baby class and antenatal classes but i'm expecting the mothers to be much older than me. I know i few girls from school who have had babies but we have nothing in common at all, very different and my current friends are not in sheffield anymore, they have all gone to uni and arent interested in babies like me :) xxxx

I didn't have anything in common with several of the other young mums I know either.. but when you have a baby/get pregnant.. IDK it's like you're allowed into this secret club LOL.

:laugh2: soo true!

tbh i found hat eerone at my antenatal class was a lot older and kinda looked down on me for bein younger. but i live in an area where everyone has such high opinions of themselves and has a lot of money, so when you're a young mum who's OH has just been laid off it dont go down too well with them lol. but since i've had katie, so many people from school are expecting and stuff and even tho we had nothing in common at school, babies kinda change everythin!

dont be too disheartened if you dont get on with the people at antenatal, there's TONNES more mummies out there!!

Here we also have prenatal classes that are um tailored to various needs ie: single parents, teen parents, at risk youth, couples, etc. Do they have anything like that there?

I'm from Doncaster... it's like 20 mins away from Sheffield... =]

im not sure if we have differnt groups for different people. i've tried looking into that but so far not had much luck.

ah doncaster isnt that far from sheffield at all is it! xxxx
