A doula-in-training has been attending my birth preparation classes just to observe. She spoke in front of the whole class yesterday at the class teacher's request, and said she was offering her services for only $50 because she needs to get her practice in! She's only attended one birth before, which makes me a little nervous, but she seems very nice and excited about birth. She said she handles music, aromatherapy, lighting, etc etc. So I think I'm going to ask her to be my doula! For $50! I can't believe it... I wanted a doula, but most of them around here are around $500 and I just couldn't justify the cost.
Work has just been really stressful lately and my boss was kind of a butt to me today, and I've in general been hurting all over. So it's really nice to have some good news.
