Experiences Using the soft cup to aid conception

I've seen where some women use the soft cup to keep the sperm near the cervix after intercourse. Curious of the success rate and how soon after Intercourse the cup is inserted? I usually lay with my hips propped up for about 30 minutes, should I insert this as soon as he pulls out or wait until I'm about to get up 30 minutes later? Dr wants to try IuI if this cycle doesn't work but husband is not ready for that. Willing to try anything to make this work.
