I recently suffered a miscarriage. I was 12 weeks along and found out at the u/s that the baby had died at 8 weeks. I have a healthy 3 yr old at home and had no complications with her. After her delivery I participated in a random study which resulted in me testing postive for the Factor V Leiden Blood Disorder. I'm only heterozygous and have no history of clots therefore I was not put on any blood thinners for my second pregnancy. I've been reading alot about studies that indicate a direct relation between this mutation and miscarriages. My question is, are there any other women out there who have this mutation and have experienced a loss? If so, did your doctor recommend doing anything differently for your next pregnancy? It seems my doctor won't do anything until I've had recurrent miscarriages. I just want to do everything I can to avoid going through this experience again.
