Hi all,

I've just undergone my second round of IVF and it's now 14 days past egg collection (14DPO). I tested today which gave me a faint line after 4-5 mins.

I wasn't supposed to test until Saturday but I've had a successful pregnancy before and also tested 14 days past egg collection which gave me a really dark line quite quickly.

I'm starting to get worried and obsessed and really just looking for any experience of faint positives at this stage going on to become successful pregnancies?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
For both my pregnacies 14dpo I got a faint line never a nice dark line and I've got a DS and no.2 on the way so I'd Definatley say yes it's a good sign

Thanks Prinny - did you continue to test and did the lines get darker?

My lines only started getting much darker afte 14 dpo. Can you post a picture of the test How faint was the line, like barely there or there but could be darker? Xx

I have no experience with IVF but I would say 14DPO is normal for a faint positive. It all depends on the time when the embryo(s) implanted after the transfer. I would also say a line is a line and would retest tomorrow or Saturday and see if it gets darker. Hopefully it will.
Which test did you use? With this pregnancy I had a very faint positive on FRER at 12 dpo and a much darker one at 16 and 18 DPO but my internet cheapies were super faint at 14 and 16 dpo.

Also, if you are supposed to test on Saturday as per "instructions" I'd test again on Sat and the line will be darker then.

Im also havin a faint line.but i tested with my clearblue digital and it said pregnant so im trusting it. im back to doctors 2maro to see if their test line is darker as they only had a faint line yesterday aswel. altho with my last pregnancy the doctors test showed negative when the clearblue was showing pregnant and had to get bloods every few days to confirm my hcg was doubling!! Good luck i hope all goes well!!

They're Internet cheapies but not the paper strip ones - the ones that look like normal pregnancy tests.

The line's definitely there, not so faint that you have to squint but not as strong as the control line, which was what my last pregnancy was.

Sorry, I can't post pics as forgotten all my passwords for dumping a pic on the Internet!

I'd expect them to be faint! They aren't very sensitive. Could you get a FRER or if in the uk a superdrug own test(they're the best IMO) xx

Thanks Gemie. Right. Off out to buy a load of proper ones then.
They said it was the ones they supplied to NHS so I expected them to work!

Yeah they are supplied to the NHS but they're not sensitive I think they read HCG at 50miu? Where as a FRER reads at 12.5miu and a superdrug at 10miu.

Good luck! If you want o email me pics I can post them for you. I love seeing a good line :-D

It said 10miu on the advert and 20miu on the wrapper. Grr!
Can you pm me your email? :)

I know it's the same as the strip ones. They say they're 10miu but didn't start getting a hint of line until well after AF was due when I'd been getting very clear lines of FRER and SD own brand :dohh:

Ill pm you know xx

These are lovely lines!!

Do you think?

The one on the left is in stream, the one on the right is dipped as it said that it would give a better reading, but is fainter.

I hope it sticks. There's been so much emotional and financial investment.[-o<[-o<[-o<[-o<

I think they're very good for 12dpo!

All the very best of luck Hun :flower:

Your lines look great! My IC lines were much lighter at 13-14 dpo. But there.
I would retest with Superdrug own or FRER if you are looking for a brighter line, but the lines on the pic look like a def bright BFP!

Your lines look fab!...I'd say it's defo a positive each time I found out I was pregnant and took a test the lines were lighter then this barely even there! My lines didn't really get darker until a week after my missed period that's when I knew for sure they were positive...this time round my lines were so faint I thought it was an evaporated line lol but I've heard a line is a line and I'm now 9weeks pregnant..Hope it's a positive..x

Thanks all,

Just fingers crossed now for 3 weeks time when I have the scan to check for heartbeat...
