Hi everyone,

I've been ttc about a year now, with recurrent miscarriages and 3 in a row the last 3 months. Each pregnancy ending the same way; faint line getting slightly darker as the week goes on, just before af is due. Then AF shows up right on time. Last cycle was the worst, with horrible cramps and back/hip pain, a long period, late ovulation and crazy hormones afterwards.

This cycle, I decided to take natural Progesterone drops called Progonb-l x4 and a b-complex, to hopefully extend my luteal phase and provide additional progesterone. Although my cycle length is already a decent length- usually around 31 days with a 13 day luteal phase- I felt this couldnt hurt.

Anyway, on to the topic:
I took the progesterone starting from 2 days after the first positive, gradually upping the dose until I was taking 80mg or so a day. In that time, I felt implantation on BOTH sides (I feel implantation with each pregnancy; believe it or not). Around the time AF would normally be due, I began spotting and continued spotting for 4 more days- all the while taking progesterone. Yesterday, at 17dpo, I began full-on bleeding with occasional cramps, but no clots. I decided to test to rule out pregnancy for sure before stopping the progesterone. The two digital hpts were negative and the wondfo had an ultra, ultra faint line. My question is, am I just prolonging a miscarriage or should I hold out hope and continue the progesterone for a few days, just in case it is a late bfp?

My concern is that the bleeding is due to lower progesterone and that it may be a viable pregnancy. But if it isn't, it's possible that continuing the progesterone while on AF will cause the lining to not shed properly. What would you do in this situation?

In addition, (TMI warning) the day the full-on bleeding started, I began having "tummy troubles" (accompanied by a feeling of needing to throw up, among other things). This is not typical for me and has not happened in previous cycles. Today, I am suddenly feeling cold-like symptoms (but don't feel "sick". Just an occasional runny nose, phlegm and a sore throat).

That's a tough call, sorry you're going through this! Did you have clear bfp's by 17 dpo the other three times? If so, I would probably test one more day and if bfn stop the progesterone and see what happens. You could just be delaying AF/miscarriage with the progesterone.

Have you ever had your progesterone levels checked before you started supplementing?

Yes, in all of my previous losses I showed a positive by 14dpo (including the latest 3, as there were quite a few more). However, the lines are always faint, never strong at that point, but usually getting slightly stronger daily. So I believe it is plausible that my body may not filter hcg through my system/urine as quickly as many other people. Or perhaps they have not been sticking properly.

No, I have not gotten tested specifically for progesterone deficiency. I have had a known hormone imbalance for quite some time, though, especially since ttc and experiencing multiple losses. It definitely throws your hormones and cycles off.
