So girls, the sun is most def here to stay... i can just about reach to shave my legs again, but they are ghostly white as they have been hidden (due to inability ti shave properly and elephant ankles) for for too long!!!:dohh:

I normally fake tan (not orange though:blush:) in the summer as i am so pasty and burn so easily!

Can we fake it whilst breastfeeding? If i leave white untouched patches around my nipples is that ok? Or would i need to leave my whole boobs untouched? Or can i just not wear it??

Any ideas?

I would say it was ok on ya legs arms etc but i wouldnt put in on ur (.Y.)'s cos LO might lick it or something and i guess it wouldnt b v nive to eat!!

I wouldn't put it anywhere near your boobs as even its not directly in the area LO may lick the smell is still going to be pretty strong !!

I have the same problem, I don't tan very well and am dying to slap some st tropez on but im to worried about how the smell will affect him. Probably be sick over me knowing my luck !!

The NHS says its ok https://www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/961.aspx?CategoryID=54&SubCategoryID=135

No way would I put it near your boobs, as already mentioned the smell is very strong and all those chemicals being absorbed by your body there. Also when it fades it's because it's rubbing off on clothes etc so it's definitely gonna go in baby's mouth....surely your boobs being a little tanned isn't worth putting chemicals like that in your baby's mouth:baby:

I don't care what the NHS say....you know it's not gonna be good for them:dohh:

I just do my legs with Dove summer glow or whatever they call it. :)

Im suprised at the NHS

Ok even if its not applied to nipples some babys bob on and off at feeds, and snuffle around before latching on so could be licking the tan, then they have nose on boob (inhaling that lovely aroma). Not to mention they could be feeding for well over 20mins several times a day so are going to be stuck with that smell :dohh:

Infact im not suprised, im shocked !

I would of wrote more in my post with the link but LO was feeding.

I used to use fake tan, but not now as tbh, I hate the smell so I wouldn't wanna be LO with my face shoved in it for ages whilst I'm trying to eat my food. It mustnt be very tasty either and the chemicals are gunna have some effect on ur LO's tummy surely??

I use elemis which doesnt have any smell at all and just stimulates melolin production but its double nice to know that it isnt absorbed at all... Im not after brown boobs, theyre not out in public! (well, actually i guess they are on a regular basis now!) Just wanted to stop my legs reflecting the sun and blinding both me and bubs!

Dont think i could do my arms without my face etc cause itd look wierd, but guess legs could be done on ther own. Its a plan!

Thanks girls! :hugs:

Fake bake is organic, and although prob not yummy, would possibly not be as bad if a bit was swallowed.
What you could do tho is, if you are o with it. get some accelerator and slather it on, jump in a tan booth for 4-6 mins and then go home, wait an hour and shower.
My sister (who was a tanorexic) says this should give you a nice glow. and if you have a salon near, should mean you can do it all between feeds and be cleaned ready for next feed.

Organic???????????? That doesn't mean it's ok to be ingested:dohh:

I've been spray tanned and i'm going to be shot for this  But when i picked tabs up i got some on her face :dohh: But it washed off fine. TBH the stuff now you can get doesnt smell that bad and i think that you put enough chemicals on you with cream and body wash etc i dont see how much worse it is for fake tan. I dont fake tan so often (just did it for OHs graduation) but i dont get why its so awful. Also if it was bad for you there would be warnings you put this stuff on your faces, you get it on your hands and eat etc... its not the nicest thing for our little babies but i dont think its going to be awful.
