Hi everyone, I'm new to this group and am in need of some advise. I am 14 weeks pregnant and I accidentally fell two nights ago. I went to sit in a rolling chair and completely missed and fell right on my butt. I called the dr on call and they said wait until Monday to get checked. I started having a little more cramping than normal that night and during the day yesterday. I'm so afraid I did something to cause harm to the baby. No bleeding at all. Any thoughts??

You should be fine, try not to worry :) Many people experience crampy feelings during pregnancy and you're baby is well protected and cushioned from bumps like that. I read on BnB a while ago that you would really hurt yourself too if you hurt baby. You don't say but I assume you are ok and not injured? I hope all is well and you are reassured at your scan tomorrow :)

Pregnant women are not as fragile as people like to think.

Life used to be a lot harder and physically demanding hundreds and thousands of years ago. The body knows what it's doing and protects the pregnancy extremely well.

Im sure your baby is fine, I fell down the stairs at 22 weeks and really landed hard on my lower back. Baby was bouncing around 2 hours later! They are well protected

Thank you so much! It's our first pregnancy so it's scary for us. I do feel relieved by your responses!

Take a deep breath... when I was 8 weeks pregnant I fell down the stairs and immediately freaked out. When I called the doctor, I did go in for a scan but all was okay. He just told me to be more careful -- yes he was telling this to an already clumsy woman! :)

I fell down some concrete steps outside at 21 weeks. It shook me up but I was ok and baby is too, the kicking a little while later told me that. Think he was telling mummy off! And I've read the biggest danger is falling onto your bump. My daughter headbutted me this morning, worrying never stops!

you should be fine. Baby is well protected. At 27 weeks i fell on my bum coz i slipped on ice. But if your at all worried get yourself checked out if only for your own peace of mind

I think you'll be fine. The doctor would have told you to come in immediately if it seemed serious. My sis slipped on water and fell on her side on a concrete floor at 6 months and there were no problems. Pregnant bodies are designed to protect our little babies from relatively minor shocks and bumps. Don't worry! x

I fell down about 3 stairs and landed on my butt when pregnant with #1. I can't remember exactly how far along I was, but I think it was towards the end of 2nd tri. I felt kind of a heavy feeling in my belly, and like how it feels when you get the wind knocked out of you. But, baby was just fine, he's watching Thomas & Friends right now. :-)

When I was about 9/10 weeks I flew and landed really hard on my side, really hard. I was so worried, and went for another scan (I had just had one the day before I fell!), and she was all ok and her heart was beating perfectly. I know everyone says the same thing, but I guess it's because it's true... They are so well protected in there, even right up to the end I think, that falling on your bottom shouldn't cause any damage.

X

I fell on my bump/side 11 days before giving birth. Everything was fine. Before 12 weeks the baby is nestled in your pelvis, afterwards there is so much fluid it protects the baby. The cramping could just be because you are looking for signs. I'm sure everything is fine, but if you're worried get yourself checked xx
