I've found this great checklist for all our baby needs, and its also got a handy hospital checklist too (may be a bit early for some but nice to know what to expect!)

Baby essentials -
home check list​

For you:
  • Maternity pads – a couple of packs
  • Front opening night shirts – useful for breastfeeding
  • Old / cheap / disposable knickers
  • Nursing bra and breast pads
  • Frozen meals so you don't have to think about cooking
For baby:
  • Lots of bibs
  • Muslin squares – at least 2 packs
  • Cotton wool pads or balls
  • Cot (plus mattress, fitted sheets and cellular blankets)
  • Infant car seat
  • Pram buggy or travel system
  • Six sleepsuits / long sleeved suits
  • Six vests / short sleeved suits
  • Two cardigans / jackets
  • Shawl or snow suit
  • Hat, mittens and bootees
  • Changing mat
  • Newborn nappies
  • If bottle feeding – a set of six bottles, a steriliser and infant milk formula
Things that are handy, but not essential:
  • Moses basket / crib (plus mattress, sheets and blankets)
  • Sling
  • Bouncy chair
  • Baby monitor
  • Changing bag
  • Breast pump
  • Baby wipes
  • Bath thermometer
  • Nail scissors
  • Baby bath towel with hood
  • Room thermometer
 
:wohoo: it worked!! Hehehe... They also do a "hospital checklist" in there, but I can't be bothered to set that all out in here right now I'm afraid, so you'll just have to join their club if you want to see it! (Unless someone else is as bored as I just was and wants to put it all on here?!)

There is also a pretty decent list in the back of the Mothercare catalogue, OH and I are working through that one gradually to make sure we're ready!

is it just me.. or seriously is anyone really only going to buy 6vests and 6sleepsuits,
im much more lazy than to do the washing every other day and can imagine ill be worse when i have a baby to look after too.. just wondering?
