Hi ladies.

I now have a bit of time to write all this birth story while Jacob is in his moses basket. Make sure you have a cup of tea or nibbles while reading this story and it might be a long for you to read! Enjoy!

I chose to do VBACS. Here it goes:

On the 10th Sept, I called to Triage with concerning of Jacob's movement, and was told to come in. I did mention this to my midwife when I went in for my appointment on the 6th Sept and they said dont worry about it and I dont feel reassuranced enough, I know hes head down. So I went to hospital to be monitoring his movement and I stayed there for couple of hours to be monitored.

Midwife wasnt happy and waiting for the doctor to come around, the midwife took the monitor papr thingy and went and chase the doctor up, find out what was keeping delay and it was about 3pm and I was so hungry and decided to go for something to eat but missed the doctor! :dohh:

So they have admitted me and to be monitoring the baby's wellbeing but his heartbeat is great and just the movements that was the problem. So I had a consultant came around to see me at half 9 at night! Was told that I will be seen by her again next day to talk more about it and asked if someone who can sign can be with me, so I have asked them to book an interpreter for me.

Next day - 11th Sept - interpreter arrived and consultant turned up. We had a talk and I told her how I feel about this pregnancy and had a nosebleed with worried etc about the baby, but with this pregnancy I had no complications whatsoever - unlike with Billy's so all pregnancies are different that I was told. She decided to do membrane sweep to encourage to bring on labour on my own within 24 hours but she checked my cervix and turned out to be that I was 3 cm already!! :happydance:

So during 24 hours nothing happened apart from irregular contractions, and the midwife wanted the contraction to start itself.

12th Sept at 39 weeks and 1 day - I woke up to have breakfast - ugh I dont like hospital brekkie but at least I had to have it in case something happen. I was about to putting the tray away and at 9am, a midwife came and asked if I am Lisa and I told her yes and she speaks too fast and I couldn't catch what she said but I was able to catch the last words was water broken and I asked water broken and I knew it means induce me! So she asked me to pack the bag and escort me to the labour and delivery but lucky that my interpreter ring them to check make sure that I am in there and ask them to wait until the different interpreter to be attend but which is good that midwife in L&D waited til the interpreter arrived and my husband to be arrived, so she can give me all the information we need to know what is happening with me.

So I waited for hubby to come. So goes 10am, the interpreter has arrived and so was hubby. I went for a shower and brush my teeth and everything clean and ready for the induction.

Midwife came in and talked to us about everything and was told that the induction is a long processing which I was preparing for anyway. And has asked a lady from the threate to talk about drugs such as epidural etc which I dont wanted but midwife wanted to make sure that I know the risks etc which is good to make sure everything we knows before midwife do anything.

At 11.40am, midwife has broken my waters and tell me to use the gas and air if I needed but lucky interpreter helped me to distract what midwife was doing to my downstairs and I was laughing at the interpreter, and she thought she couldnt break the water once she moved her hand out and realised it has! But I was still 3cm so I got off the monitor and walk/stand up etc waiting for contractions to come on. About an hour into that, the contractions getting so bad and stronger, and was asked to go back on the bed to monitor the baby's hb because it was quicker than she thought it would be. I couldnt cope with contractions as it was so bad like as having a really bad period pains, I kept lent left as I find it help but was told to try and sit upright and carrying on gas and air, it was my lifesaver as midwife try to find baby's hb because I asked for the pedithane(sp?) and she needs to ensure that the baby's hb is fine. So he was, and midwife went off the room for a min and I can remember the min she came back with the drug that I asked for and I shouted that I need to push, midwife dont believe me and went to check my downstairs, she was shocked to find that Jacob's head is crowning already and I can't have the drug I wanted so it was out of window! I saw the drugs being taken out of the room and I feel the urge to push and midwife said go ahead, I did when contractions get bad and I push then contractions starting to fade away while pushing but if I dont push and it gets hurt again.. So at 1.42pm, he is out! I have to unbutton my shirt to be ready for him to come to me to be skin to skin contact. I was so shocked and lost words at what I just did :happydance:.

I had an injection to have the placenta to come out but it came out few mins after Jacob came out! I had a peek at what it looks like but interesting!

I am still in shock at the time from water broken to given birth just 2 hours and 2 mins!:happydance::kiss::cloud9:

So Jacob weight in at 6lbs and 7oz! He's doing well and good at breastfeeding! I am in heaven and on cloud nine, also feeling so proud at what I achieved something I wanted to do - natural birth after c-section!

Here is something I wanted to say to ladies who had c-sections with difficult to have the baby out first time around is:- you can do it second time around and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

Well done for reading this all! :)
