Fast labour with #1 will #2 be the same?

Hi ladies

I had my son 8 months ago. My waters went and contractions came on thick and fast, i went from 3cm to 10 in an hour and 47 mins. As I never felt the build up of contractions - just straight to intensely painful - I never got the chance to try and cope with the pain with breathing etc. Im wondering if with this baby it's likely to be the same? Id love to have a bit of a longer labour this time, to have some time to experience it and not be begging for drugs! I took so much gas and air so fast that the memory of delivering my son is very blurry and distorted x

Both of mine were quick
My first 9 hours from first pain to birth, my second 6 hours.
The last stages were both over in 20 minutes. It's hard to tell if they will be the same but I'm guessing they will.
The contractions were different for me though, my first was like yours very quick, very painful.. He was back to back and I can't really remember the pushing stage as it was such a blur and over so quickly.
My second I could breathe through my contractions,I stayed In control the whole time but the pushing stage was a lot harder and more painful (probably because he was 10lbs 11!!!

My second labour was longer than my first (1st was 6 hours start to finish, 2nd was about 9-10 hours with contractions a few hours before too), and I was 3cm before going into labour that time).
It's more common to have a faster 2nd labour but doesn't always happen that way. Hope you get a longer labour this time

The general rule is that second and subsequent babies come faster but obviously its not the case with everyone.

My 1st was 12 hours from first contraction to birth but he was stuck fro about 3 hours and I could not push him out so it would have been about 9.

My second was 3 hours from first pain to birth. Went from 3cm-birth in 60m. It was pretty intense.

I know my midwives are a bit concerned this time with timing and are quite pro home birth with me..and I have been instructed to call as soon as I feel pain.
