When we were little my dad was a fireman, I can remember every year the fire station he was based at had a Christmas party for all the firemens kids, it was amazing, Santa used to come in the Fire Engine, but he wouldnt come unless all us kids were out on the roof (it was safe lol) screaming for him, then he would appear in the big Fire Engine ontop of the lift
he used to sit infront of the fireman pole and hand out all the gifts then when he was done he would slide down the firemans pole and disappear. It was magical.
I remember taking Dan to one, but he was terrified of Santa so not very magical for him lol
i dont have a specific memory but i think back to christmas as warm safe and happy! my mum always made a traditional christmas dinner and our rule was no guest allowed but us and we kept the tradition going and never allow anyone to change our christmas day for us.people over here have different traditions and to be honest i never want to change what im used to and i want my kids to learn the way i know too.
its not christmas without turkey stuffing yorkshire puddings, crackers and all the trimmings!
I remember when I was little we had a gold tinsel tree that was attached to the kitchen wall. On Christmas eve I could never sleep so I would sit under the gold tree (which had clear lights on) on the dogs bed, with the dog, and read a book until I got tired and then go to bed. Mum threw the tree out last year, she'd had it since she got married aged 17. I miss that tree!
