hi ladies

im planning on formula feeding my LO but have absolutely no idea which brand to go for?

the only ones i know are cow & gate, sma and aptamil but no idea about the diff types each brand offer. any advice?x

Just pick one, any one! (as long it's easily available locally). A formula that one baby is happy on will be totally wrong for the next. You won't know what will be good for your baby until you try it.
We picked Cow and Gate for no reason at all, it seemed like 'a good make'. I was planning on BF anyway but that didn't work out.
You start with stage one or 'first' milk.

We use Cow & Gate, only bc my mum used it when i was little and also with my brothers and sister...so we just automatically picked it x

I used SMA for both Aimee and Jason. I had Jason on Aptamil when he was born but it made him sick all the time so I switched to SMA because I knew Aimee was fine on it. I chose it for Aimee because my sister had used it for her son 10 year ago! It was just familiar. :)

I agree with this xx

We picked Aptimal as it was recommended by SCBU when Imi was in there :) She went onto expressed milk soon after but when we went back onto formula we tried SMA. Big mistake so moved onto Aptimal :) All babies differ hun so pick one and see how you go :)

I used Aptamil with my daughter 14 years ago as the neonatal unit at the hospital said that's what they used as it has been proven to be the closest formula to breastmilk. We had no problems and that is also the one we use for Caidan.

But like a previous poster said, every LO is different and what's good for one may not be good for another!

They gave Aptamil to Max in the hospital and he seemed to be taking it well so we've used it since then. We didn't see the point of changing his milk when he was happy on Aptamil. It is a little more expensive, only by a pound or so though and has worked well for us!

I agree with the above, pick one, and if your LO takes it well, stick with it! You shouldn't change it too much unless your LO is really not tolerating the chosen one well. Good luck!
