Hi ladies,

I was a member of this forum a few years ago (2011) and posted in this section, I came off because I struggled seeing people get that ultimate BFP etc etc, you guys will have heard it all before!

Basically I have since got married and continued to try for a baby as you can see, without much success.

Trying to get doctors to take me seriously was very difficult being young (I'm only 26 now) but have been TTC since September 08 so you can do the maths.

Here goes the story, and I do apologise if I ramble.

Sept 08 - had implant taken out.
Sept 10 - no baby, scared to see doctor, decided to have a break and get married
April 11 - Got married
Sept 12 started trying again, said will give it till 2013 and then see the doctor
Jan 13 - went to see a number of doctors getting fobbed off with excuses like I am too young etc. Although kept pushing and finally got an exam back in March last year and found that I have vaginismus (no surprise there with all the stress)
March 13 - after exam got sent for some scans too which came back clear, was put on waiting list for CBT to help de stress.
May 13 - July started with bad cramps and heavier periods than usual, dismissed as a one off.
July 13 - still getting bad cramps and during ovulation and during period cannot stand up pain is that bad. Go to see doctor who refereed me for blood tests.
Sept 13 - Diagnosed with Anemia
Nov 13 - cramps still bad after 2 months of extra iron tablets, having to take more and more time off work and stronger pain killers, seen a doctor who actually cares and sent for lower abdo scan.
Dec 13 - Scan shows bulky ovaries
Jan 14 - Woo hoo, today, I see gyno, she assumes endometriosis. Wants me to go on microgynon pill for 3 months to see if symptoms are made better, if they are they will to a laproscopy to look further into it. Still on waiting list for CBT, but have an appt in Feb.

Feel like I am taking a million steps from TTC (which is why my status is on a break TTC) as it has been a long emotional 5 years.

My questions to you ladies are:

Anyone experienced this before? Or know what consequences endo has? I dont know much about it as the word was just sprung on me today! Was anyone put back on the pill?

Any ideas for pain relief for this?

Argh so many questions I dont know where to start!!!!! Head Spinning slightly right now!

Thanks for reading if you got this far.xxx

So sorry mrsrouse2b for what you've been through, I can't believe that so many drs haven't taken you seriously! Sure 26 is young but that should also be a reason to take you seriously as 5 years is a long time to try for anyone but in your early to mid 20's when our fertility is supposed to be so high it shouldn't be taking that long :hugs:

At least you have a caring dr looking after you now. I also have endometriosis, it was diagnosed with a laparoscopy in 2010. My main symptom was pain during sex, it started not long after I had gone off bcp (we weren't trying then though so were using condoms). Nothing showed up on an ultrasound but the dr still suspected endo so I had a lap where they found and removed mild endo. Unfortunately the pains returned 6 months later so I went back on bcp (found one that was more agreeable to my body) and the pains subsided. Fast forward to 2012 when we started to ttc and the pains came back soon after going off bcp, this time though my pains have been a lot of mid cycle cramping. We have been trying for almost 1 1/2 yrs now and no BFPs yet :( we are seeing a specialist who thinks the problem could either be my endo and/or hubby's low sperm morphology. Has your hubby done a SA?

In terms of other options for endo I have had great success with Maca supplements in regards to reducing the severe mid cycle pains I was getting. When I take them every day I get nothing, when I miss a few days in a row they come back, for this reason I don't believe it is helping the condition but just masking the symptoms...better than nothing! Definitely research it first though as I'm not sure if it might interact with bcp

Feel free to ask me any questions and best of luck Hun xxx

So sorry ur struggling the ttc journey is extremelly stressfull i knw coz took me 5 years with my first. Aftr a couple of years of not being on any kind of contraception i went t docs too & thy referred me f tests etc also dH gt chekd he came bk fine so they discovered my ovulation levels were low. Put me on clomid. Think was average of nearly 2 years between me first going t docs then tests & then being given clomid. Anyway they said could only take for 6 months then a higher dose for another 6 months & after that if i didnt conceive would hav t look into more invasive treatment iui etc. emotionally i was a wreck. So nothing happened & in that last 11th month is when i prayed for first time to God & said i am trying my best to stay patient but nw struggling if im meant t hv kids plz help me. Plus that month gt on google & discovered opks & preseed etc as hd read clomid reduces fertile cm. that was only month i actually actively tried t conceive. & i did!! In that last 11th month..
I can relate & i knw it may seem it might never happen but i really do beleive if its meant t happen it will & when it does ul treasure it so much more!! Praying for u & anyone else who its taking time for.. really hope u get ur good news soon.

Thank you for your replies. I just wish people had not fobbed me off in the first place.

Sparkle_13 I do have a great doctor now and feel I might be on the right path. Did they put you on bcp when they first suspected endo, even though you were ttc? Hubby hasnt had SA yet. Do you think he should? Or should we concentrate on my problems first. He is the same age as me by the way. This is all so frustrating when I dont really understand enough about everything yet! Had never even heard of endo until yesterday when I was told thats what it could be!!!!

Mom2Sam - thank you for your story, this gives me hope that it might happen one day but it might be a longer journey. In a sense, kind of glad I am getting this sorted out while 26 and not 10 years on when things could have got worse or might be a little more complex.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to me ladies, very much appreciated!

I will hopefully learn more as I come onto this forum more often :):):)

I don't actually remember if they put me back on bcp while I waited for my lap, it wouldn't have mattered to me though as I wasn't ttc at the time.

If it was me I would make hubby go get a SA straight away just to rule out any problems there especially before you have to have a surgery too. Also after waiting so long I wouldn't want to wait any longer... But that's just me... I'd already made hubby go get a SA at about 10 months of trying as his test was far less invasive than any of mine.

Good luck xx
:hugs:
