I was a UK size 8 pre pregnancy and have been adapting my wardrobe for most of my pregnancy e.g. wearing all my tunic tops and dresses with larger sized leggings. I only bought 1 pair of maternity jeans but now even they are uncomfortable :(

I think this will be my only pregnancy so resent spending lots on maternity clothes and have been trying to find normal stuff that fits but now its just doing my head in! Nothing feels comfortable :(

I'm not huge but my tummy feels really stretched at the mo. Luckily no stretch marks but I think my stomach muscles have separated  as I have that weird pointy tummy thing when I sit up!

So generally feeling rubbish about my appearance right now - luckily I have the 'pregnancy glow' but is anyone else fed up of hunting for comfortable but fashionable clothes?

I feel the same am always saying to my oh that i feel so rubbish about how i look at the min i have a few maternity tops but been squeezing into my old jeans and now they just wont fit. I have been looking on ebay today for some maternity jeans as i also dont want to spend a fortune on maternity wear you should have a look you get some good bargins :flower:

The extra effort it takes in getting ready is frustrating. My mum has bought a few bits so I am lucky. I always used to take minutes when deciding which clothes I wanted to wear and never really felt self conscious but I ve actually had a few teary moments recently! Leggings and tunic tops are definitely the way forward.

My tummy also does the pointy thing!! It looks like a tent!!

Oh I'm glad I'm not the only one lol I can't look at my tummy when I sit up anymore - it makes me feel queasy! lol

Will give ebay a go - thanks! :)

Ebay is brilliant for clothes. I've just grown out of all ny clothes, seemingly overnight, so I've been on ebay a lot this week lol. I refuse to shell out for expensive maternity clothes. We may not have a third baby and if we do it won't be for a few years so the clothes I get now will have about 5 or 6 months wear at the most.

I was in Debenhams on Friday and in the Dorothy Perkins section, their maternity trousers were all on sale at really good prices - I got a lovely pair of black maternity jeans down from £30 to £11.50 :) if you have a DP nearby go have a wee look in there I would say!

new look ad ebay are where i've gotten some good bargins, :) maternity wear a good investment imo, as its comfortable post delivery, and you can sell it on without much hassle,
i got newlook maternity leggings 2 paairs fo 15, ad 3 tops for 15 totally worth it for comfort,

I've been living in pants with a yoga roll top and just bought 3 skirts with the same roll over top as well, and I just team them with extra long tight singlets.
Also a few maxi dresses.
I couldn't wear jeans past week 9- they were just to uncomfortable on my tender tummy!

I had to buy some more maternity clothes the other day, as I live in them now! Nothing else fits, and everything is so uncomfortable. My Mom brought me some black linen trousers from Peacocks for £7, and she went back for another pair for me because I loved them so much as they're really comfortable. New look has a good selection online, and Matalan do them as well I think.
I did buy some over the bump jeans too but I find they make me feel sick especially when bump is 'soft' and not that hard. So had to buy under the bump ones instead this time.
It's so difficult finding clothes that are comfortable during pregnancy, thank god places do do maternity wear!!

New Look seems to be pretty good for maternity clothes and are quite cheap - I got some great maternity jeans for £15.

Leggings are always a good option if you are feeling uncomfortable. I like to wear long tops or dresses as tops anyway so I'm managing to use my non-maternity wear tops - so far.

I really like the look of the DP maternity section online but in all the stores I've been in they don't seem to stock it! :( I would buy online but am not sure about sizing.

I managed to get some in Peacocks today :D One sale pair that are slouchy for lazing around the house for £5 in the sale! And another smart dark bootcut pair that I can wear for work for £16. I had to buy them in 2 sizes bigger tho as that was all they had left. I tried them on and boy are they comfy! They are quite loose around the leg and bum but as they are tailored they don't look bad. Whoever said just buy your normal size in maternity is def lying! lol

Well I usually wear about a 10-12 in trousers normally. Have some Topshop maternity jeans in a 12 that are quite comfy, so I got the DP ones in a 12 and they're actually quite loose - its good because it would be great for them to last me right through till the end of the pregnancy. So I would say get your normal size, or a size up if you want a little big of wriggle room :)

Another recommendation for New Look here.

It's pretty inexpensive and trust me, you will get your wear out of it.

Unless you're one of the lucky few that shrinks back to normal size immediately after giving birth you'll get a few months wear out of them post partum too.

Better to spend a bit on being comfortable now and after your baby arrives rather than struggle on and end up having to buy bigger sizes after you've given birth anyway x

I think I am going for the 'wriggle room' also lol I'm usually a fitted clothes kinda girl but I am hating how uncomfortable tight things are making me at the mo! I am hoping if I feel comfortable I will look better :)

I got a lot of my maternity clothes from New Look. There not that expensive either. Ive had them a few weeks and they feel as though there going a bit small already :( Theres no way im spending on any more. Ill just have to stick to leggings and long tops. The tops in New Look are nice, especially the Mamalicious sp? ones. Brilliant quality.

Just a warning when buying second hand maternity off ebay - I started doing this in the beginning, and was finding that all the pants I bought didnt fit me because the previous owner had worn then up to full term and stretched them out, and me obviously only being in the earlier stages, I didnt fill them out properly. Therefore none of the pants would stay up! Ive had to buy a belly bandeaux thing to go over the top to keep them up! Also, when on ebay you cant tell what the fabric and quality are like....two pairs i bought turned out to be nasty non-breathable fabrics, and even on a mild day i was roasting and felt disgusting!

I have since gone out and spent the money to buy good quality brand new jeans (x1) and black work pants (x1), from a store so i could try them on first....well worth it i say!

tops off ebay arent so much a problem - but ive found you can often get them just as cheap in sales, or department stores like Target.

Ok the jeans are already going back to the shop :p The hunt continues! Though comfy, they did make me look a bit odd with flappy legs! Maybe it will be leggings and long tops/jumpers for the rest of the winter! Am wearing an outfit I am happy with today though - makes the world of difference :)
