Hi Girlies
I need a bit of advice. I stopped feeding LO at 11 weeks since he was so impatient he wouldn't wait for my milk to let down and was on and off the boob constantly. We've been FF for the last 3 weeks - I gradually switched from BM to FF and things have been going fine until this week. He will drink about 3 oz of each bottle during the day and then just seems to lose interest, arches his back and pushes the bottle away and clamps his mouth shut. I've tried winding him, different feeding positions, you name it and then an hour later he's screaming for food again.
During the night he is a different baby - drinks about 6oz in 15mins with no problems - he has recently gone from waking once during the night to twice now grrr!
Do you think he's just being difficult or maybe he's not satisfied with just milk anymore? He's a big boy, weighs over 15lb at 14 weeks and is always watching us eat - he's able to support his head really well and will sit supported for a long time.
I'm seeing the HV for his weigh-in tomorrow anyway and will ask her about it but wanted to see what you girlies think. I'm getting so frustrated having a battle at every daytime feed.
HELP!!
Rach

Arching back is a sign of reflux.

Waking at the night at his age is perfectly normal too. Caitlyn went from sleeping through from 5 weeks to waking up 4 times a night at 3 months and hasn't stopped yet.

It sounds like reflux to me. I started weaning early at 3 months and giving her rice cereal in the evening helped. She vomits alot in the day, but sleeps fine from 8pm-7am... I know how frustrating the reflux is. I did find also that getting her off nightfeeds helped a ton! They are laying too much in the night and it only gets worse if you give them a bunch of night feeds.

Only 2 weeks and then he will be 4 months so don't feel too bad about starting solids then !

Good luck! Your hv will likely say no, it seems the uk is still pushing the 6 month wait... here in canada we are starting to revert back to 4 months.

Well the stupid hv can come and feed him in the middle of the night then! I was weaned at 10 weeks and I turned out ok!
The reflux thing would make sense - he always screams if he's laid flat so I've got one of those cot wedge things and at least he doesn't throw up all over his bedding now! Usually just over me! But he doesn't throw up after every feed. TBH I have suspected reflux for a little while but his weight gain has always been fine so I've not worried about it too much....would explain the regular hiccups and general fussiness during feedings.
Ah well, hopefully things will improve with a bit of baby rice - maybe he might even sleep through the night...hasn't managed it yet but I always live in hope!!
Thanks girlies
