well as the title suggests lol i am just wondering as i cant remember with my daughter whe you try and get them out of feeding on demand, i am bottle feeding and Max's feeds are all over the place, he can feed and feed then go hours without one other days he wants a bit every no and then,

thanks in advance

I've been thinking about this, hopefully someone can be of help :D

I did't know you could 'demand feed' with bottles... shows what I know.... I BF.... I use that as my excuse to demand feed for as long as I see fit.... I guess its different though... I know nothing about FF.

Goodluck with getting an answer though! I plan to check back and see what is said, It cant hurt to know.

You dont demand feed with bottles (from what ive heard)..On the back of the tin it should give you how many feeds, how many hours in between, for there age bracket..

Im sure she's just trying to get herself into a routine...It should settle soon..

But all the same..when she feeds constantly one after another, you should re asses how much your giving her..maybe she isnt getting full after what your giving her..might be time to increase it so she lasts longer between feeds? might add a bit more regularity to them..

Lol, Kaya's fully on solids and I still feed on demand. Any time she's hungry I give her something to eat.

maddi is formula feed, and has been since 4days old, i always feed her on demand and continued to do so until she found her own little routine for her bottles, she used to eat like a piggy between 8am and 8pm, sleep through and start again the next day. we just followed her, and were guided by the aptamil tin too. x

Hannah demand fed to some extent until she was weaned. I generally had a good idea of her schedule and would try to keep her feeds within a certain time period but there were days she wasn't ready at X time or she wanted it earlier etc. and I remained flexible

Iv had 2 before and still carnt remember when hun .

At the moment Oscar is sometimes 2 hour feeds sometimes 3 hour feeds , Its a bit all over the place sometimes 2 oz sometimes 3, Im just kind of followin his pattern im shattered and hope some who in a few weeks he will find his own little routine . xx .

I think Marlie demand fed until about 5-6 months when she was weaned. She then went into her own schedule with bottles and food.

I FF and there is no reason you can't demand feed. When Kathryn is hungry I feed her, have been since birth, the only difference is that if the bottle is empty she has to wait a min for me to mix up another. Now she's getting 3 solid meals a day so her bottles fall into more of a routine as well.

I still demand feed my son , and hes 10 months old ..when hes hungry I feed him ..one day he will stop

I always did it, well I guess until over a year, our meals were more structured, but as long as they were on bottles or nursing it was when they wanted it, naturally by a few months old they had pretty much set their own routine but if they were going through a growth spurt or something it would change depending on their needs at the time.

should add that I still give a bottle on demand but Hannah's not the greatest milk drinker

You can totally FF demand feed. When Betty was in the hospital for prematurity, the first three weeks she was on a schedule, but once she was term, she ceased staying on the schedule, and it was totally at the recommendation of my pediatrician. I posted earlier in formula feeding that my LO is a snacker, she eats approximatly every 1 - 2 hours, 3 oz every time. Some babies just can't take too much food at a time, and sometimes they want food when they want food. Just like grown ups...

Brooke is FF and she has gotten herself into her own routine with her feeds now, obviously im flexible with it and will still feed on demand if she really wants it

thanks girls, i did think FF babies also fed on demand! i thought it was strange that they would be different to BF babies just getting milok from different places lol!! xx
