I'm realllllyy getting sick and tired of this feeding every 2 hours thing! The dr told me 3 weeks ago that she needed to be spaced, and I've tried. I've tried water between feeds, tried distracting her...but when she wants a bottle, she wants it NOW!, thank you very much!

Does anyone else have any more suggestions? She's gaining weight at an appropriate rate and she's not overweight but she's taking in 5oz every 2 hours during the day! That's a LOT of milk! Sometimes she'll stretch to 3 but thats tops. She'll sleep during the night for 4 or 5 hours but yeah during the day, every 2 hours. I feel like I spend ALL day feeding her! I only just get her down for a nap and she's up again looking for a bottle.

So yeah..any suggestions would be great. I'm not trying to deprive her of her milk but it'd just make it easier on all of us (she'd be able to take a longer nap too) if she could just take like...6 or 8oz at a time with a bigger space in between. I thought she would be able to go longer now, she's 9 weeks old!

I've been feeding my Cub the same way too even through the night though...She had stopped for a few days but she is back nursing every 2-3hrs...I think she is getting more Foremilk then Hindmilk...(thats why she nurses so much on me..)My one boob is a cup size bigger than the other cuz she favors that one the most..She never nurses long enough to get to the hindmilk...Goodluck girl..:hugs:

My 10-week old still feeds hourly and my doctor told me the same thing, to extend time between feeds. 2-3 hours is totally normal so I don't know how you can get more time, other then making sure the baby feeds well and eats longer during a feeding. I, too, have tried distracting but, ultimately, there's no distracting or soothing a hungry baby!

Savannah still feeds every 2 hrs during the day at 4mths...

My lo i was the same and still is at 5 months! I asked the hv and she just said some babies just like little and often. This just infuriated me because I was at the end of my tether with it. I guess I'm used to it now but it's hard when we go out anywhere still because I have to take so many bottles with us.
He's now on treatment for reflux and that maybe a reason why he doesn't have much each time. I just think he's fussy personally, lol!

Let me know if you find a solution, giving water inbetween feeds to eek him out didn't work for me either.

My friend's nephew is 4 months old and takes 9oz every 2 hours!!!! Now that's alot lol!!! I find Ollie feeds every 3 hours but if he doesn't have alot at one feed he's wanting more milk an hour or two later. Frustrating! Just wish he'd take a whole 5oz everytime so he's in more of a routine! x

Jasmine goes every 2-3 hours in the day too now, since she has been sleeping longer at night.

I think its normal at that age, my LO is the same in the day and starting to sleep more at night, at least its that way round!!
Are you bf or ff?

Savannah still feeds every 2 hrs during the day at 4mths...

yup so did Amelia and she does now at nearly 6mnths + she has solids too!

Fortunately the feeds only last 10/15mins max

Karl has 5oz every 3 hours, then goes 7 hours through the night.
Could you not try giving her some cool boiled water when she wakes up looking for a bottle?

Or mabye switch to extrahungry formula?

hmm I'm going to ask. I just don't want to get told off at the dr because I haven't spaced her feeds yet!!

surely they cant expect you to leave her screaming if she is hungry, Annabelle feeds every 2 hours through the day and evening then goes from 11ish till 5ish at night then back down till 9am

hope your both well

Lou

I'm trying to up the amount shes taking in today but she just fell asleep on her bottle :( She's snacking today...take an oz, sleep for 10-15 min, wake up and take another oz, go back to sleep

My LO is 3 months and 1 week on mond and she feeds every 2 hours, i too was goin to post a thread coz ppl keep advising we use the hungrier baby milk, however the health visitor had suggested that we leave the hungrier baby milk till she approaches weaning.
Ella sleeps from 9 - 7am tho without feed. im now wonderin if that is normal lol.

fingers crossed our LO will even out their timings lol.

xx
