I've been breast feeding my daughter now since she was born 9 weeks ago. She's doing so well and growing as she should. I've had non stop problems since I had her with the breast feeding but I've stuck it out even though I constantly feel pain and that I'm ate dead end with it all. I've had mastitis twice and now I'm not sure if I've got thrush or a bad latch (although numerous health visitors, midwives etc say latch looks fine and she wouldn't normally thrive and put weight on if she wasn't getting what she needed. I was told by gp I had thrush a few weeks back but think I stopped treatment too quickly. I'm now using daktarin cream after each feed and have started putting the daktarin gel around inside of little ones mouth 4 times a day, does this sound ok? Should it clear up now I'm doing this? I'm so down, all I think about is the next feed and how much it's going to hurt. My husband said I've given it a great shot and should start bottles with her, think he's worried about me because I've just had no let up with the pain in one way or another since she was born. I bottle fed my son and he did perfectly well so I'm certainly not against it or anyone that does it. It's a personal choice totally. I just can't work out why this is working for me and I really wanted to give it a go. I'm really getting down over it. Is the daktarin gel ok to apply round her mouth 4 times a day? It won't harm her? Thanks.
