Feel pregnant but BFN

Hey, I've been reading these forums forever, but just now actually registered..anyway..

I'm in the same boat with the missing AF and some weird symptoms, but a negative test. I've had AF like clockwork since I was 11, never late. For the past 6 months I have started on the 14th or 15th, but here it is the 21st and nothing!

I have a lot of the milky discharge too (sorry, TMI, I know) & the occasional crampy feeling, so I run to the bathroom thinking it's AF but nope!

My partner and I are definitely hoping for a baby, but I'm not to the point of detailed tracking yet, since I'm so regular.

I took a cheapie test stick that I got off Amazon in a pack of like 20, but it was negative, even with first morning urine.

Anybody have any thoughts on this???

To everyone who is asking about if it's too early for a test to show a BFP, I've been reading up on peoples experiences and it seems very common for a BFP to take 2 or even 3 or 4 weeks after a missed AF to show up on a test! I have low estrogen levels I'm pretty sure (self-diagnosed lol), does this mean my HCG levels would be naturally lower during a pregnancy as well?

I'm still feeling quite deflated, I'm waiting on getting my online pink dye tests that I ordered. The reason why I feel so awful is because I drank soya milk for 4 days before ovulation and then for a couple of weeks after that and I'm not sure if that has messed me up. I really want to hear about other women's experiences with drinking soya milk and if it made them miss their period. I didn't even know that soya milk could interfere with anything :(

No sign of AF. No cramps at all, only an ache in my right ovary side. Dryish smears of bright white/yellow CM in underwear.

I am waiting for my pink dye tests but walked past a Sainsbury's and couldn't control myself, I bought more blue dye :dohh: They are cheap at Sainsbury's but they don't have any cheap pink dye.

This is what I got, I don't have my hopes up because everyone is saying how bad blue dye tests are. Both had a thin blue line after 15 mins. The camera doesn't pick it up very well.

*AF was due Sunday morning, it's now Thursday (Friday in under an hour!) and no sign of AF at all*

I just looked at the test that I took a few hours ago (the other test I took early this morning).

The 2nd, later test is now showing a very clear blue thin line (darker than when I took the photo). It could be just what the tests normally do, I'm not reading into it too much. However it's darker and clearer than the test I took this morning and is blue in colour.

Never look at tests after the 10 minute window. quite often they'll show a line where there shouldn't be one and its just the dye running or something. :hugs: I hope you get a bfp soon, get some pink tests.

Sorry to be the doom and gloom again in this thread, but those lines are evaps hun, they are thin, off centre and it's where the dye has gathered in the indent.

Hope you get your BFP soon!

xx

hmm, it really depends. I would try a frer. I had four pregnancies and that showed for me every time. As for symptoms it really is hard to tell as pms is sooo similiar to pregnancy. Really out of four pregnancies only my first produced two symptoms that had me thinking after my bfp..oooohhhh thats why! But honestly I have had more "symptoms" in non pregnant cycles...sore, veiny boobs, dark nipples (yep, pms for me) backache, headache, dizzy, nausea, cramping, twinges, moody, depressed, emotional, starving, extreme thirst, increase urination...etc, i can write a book on my crazy pre AF symptoms, some months they are sooo extreme that I think I must be pregnant! actually my last 3 pregnancies my symptoms were mild pms in the tww. Well except my third, I barely had any symptoms at all..total suprise! Anyhow I really hope it is a bfp month for you, just try not to get too excited just yet. Blue dyes are really notorious for evaps. Maybe do a digi. I'm just saying that because you are going to be really hurt if this ends up being bfn.. good luck and fx'd for you

It's true. I did this about 6 months after my first son was born. I was having what I thought were pregnancy symptoms and missed my period, so I took a blue dye test. I waited too long and slowly, another line started to appear. I was very disappointed at the doctor's office when their test came out negative. The directions included in the tests usually do say to disregard any results read after 10 minutes.

Honestly, I didn't get my hopes up after using the blue dye! Seems weird that they can be sold if they always make a thin line in the positive area. I wont waste my money at all despite them being cheap!

Unfortunately my pink dye tests still haven't come. Very annoying. I have a feeling that I'm not pregnant now though. Even though I've missed my period. The microscopic bit of blood on the tissue (really had to be searching to find it, was basically dry) that I had on Monday was confusing. But as it was a day after AF was supposed to come, maybe my AF went so light that it was basically nonexistent. Maybe this is a side effect of drinking soya milk. I know that I ovulated on the 2nd/3rd of the month as I had all the symptoms and that O day happened exactly 14 days before my expected AF. On expected AF day had lots of pains, just no period. My period is usually very, very heavy and lasts 6 days, sometimes longer. I usually have to change so much that it can be every half an hour. I remember last AF I was at a friends house and had to run in and out of the bathroom every half hour when my flow was the heaviest.

No signs of AF.. getting close to being a week "late". I say late, but I just know it's not coming this month now.

This is the first month I've ever in my life BD a few days leading up to and on my ovulation day. Last month was the 1st month of trying but we BD too late for it to be possible and missed the window. How cruel of my AF to not turn up if I'm not pregnant!:growlmad:

i really hope it's good news for you hun. my best friend said to me (last cycle when i was late) that i should assume i'm not pregnant, and then it will be a nice surprise if i am. easier said than done, i know! xxx

I really don't understand where you have this soya milk thing from, because I don't understand how every lactose intolerant woman who drinks soya is somehow missing af and won't have regular cycles  I just think it sounds ridiculous. It really hasn't affected my cycle at all and I really don't have a choice about the milk I drink as I am lactose intolerant, and I know many dairy-free or vegan woman who have normal cycles despite drinking soya milk for everything every day

there is the link to the problems eating too much soy can bring when TTC

xxshellsxx if the soy affected my cycle and made me get pregnancy symptoms, do you know how long it would be before I'm back to normal? Do you know if I would get my other AF's as normal now that I've stopped drinking it?

I also thought it sounded ridiculous that soya milk could make you miss your period and give you pregnancy symptoms but I read so many other women claiming it happened to them. So maybe it's happened to me?

I will test as soon as I get the pink dye tests, not sure when I'll get them.

It is very well known that Soy Milk has phytoestrogens in it, which act like artificial hormones and can interfere with fertility and conception. She isn't making that up.

Phytoestrogens don't act like taking a BC pill - drinking Soy Milk won't stop a woman from getting her period. Drinking Soy Milk can however relieve cramping and PMS symptoms, similar to how artificial hormones are given to relieve severe PMS and cramping (artificial hormones are simply a higher dose, and phytoestrogens are eliminated from the body in a different way).

It can definitely alter her normal cycle though and might disrupt ovulation. It mainly affects estrogen and the ability for eggs to mature properly and that's how it can affect ovulation.

I forgot to mention that they also make rice milk, coconut milk, almond milk, and also Lactaid (dairy free milk). Your only choice is not Soy Milk. I am also lactose intolerant, but am just drinking hormone free skim, since I get very few side-effects when I just use it in cereal. It's up to you.

It depends how long you were drinking soy milk very regularly? I'd say a couple months probably, since the phytoestrogens in soy milk are excreted by the body in the urine, and don't hang around like the ones in artificial hormones.

Well I took some expensive FRER test's as my internet ones didn't come. BFN's. So I felt a bit relieved to at least have a result from a well trusted brand of pregnancy test. Went about my day, happy enough.

But something is wrong? I have this nonstop burning and aching feeling to the right of my groin. Really close to where my leg is. This has been going on for days. When I was gardening, I found it really hard going when I am very fit and can usually dig for hours. I was getting hot very easily and stopping. I keep getting headaches when I never usually have them. My stomach is swollen. I'm about to go on holiday so all this is really not ideal. But I'm now a bit worried about my health because I don't feel my normal self. I have a lower back ache as well and am finding it hard to get comfortable to sleep at night. So tired all the time.

Has anyone experienced this?

I honestly don't know, i was just offering advice on what i've read about soya and how it can affect these things, sorry. Hope you get some answers soon x

maybe it's best you go to see your dr to rule out an problems, especially if your going on holiday soon x

Hi I was just reading your thread. I'm a believer that you aren't out until the witch comes. You mentioned you had pains in your ovaries. Maybe its an ectopic, I would definitely see a doc to rule that out. I think sometimes ectopics don't produce enough hormones right away to show up on a pregnancy test. Good luck to you.
