I haven't been on here for a while as I was trying to step back a bit but I need a bit of moral support that you wonderful ladies are oh so good at!!!

Long journey for TTC no 2 for us. I have had an ectopic and lost my right tube, then on my second round of clomid I fell pregnant then sadly miscarried. I then had 4 more rounds of clomid (although when the follicles were on my right side I didn't have much of a chance!!!)

I now have been told, no more clomid. IVF is only option but as I have a child I have to fund it myself. Just feeling very very low!!! We have enough for one round but its an awful lot of pressure and I'm so scared that it won't work!

Anyone else having IVF - I should be starting it all in April. Anyone else in the same sort of position? Would be great to hear from anyone who has had IVF - I have no idea of what to expect at my appt on Monday.

Thanks

I don't have any advice for you with regards to the IVF but just wanted to say I'm sorry you've found yourself in this boat and have to go down the IVF route and pay for it yourself :hugs:. Wishing you all the best and hoping it will work first time for you x

Hi Hun, im sorry your having a tough time, its such an emotional rollercoaster when your lttc.

Im going through IVF at the moment due to male factor. We have no children and are really hoping we get our dream come true in the next few weeks.

We are NHS funded so i cant compare with you on that one, but i do know a quite a bit about the process.

If you have your first appointment booked, then what they usually do is go through your history, maybe take some blood test, if you are paying then you can get some blood test free with your gp rather then paying a private clinic to do them. They may even get you started straight away, i know they do if you go private, its the nhs where you are waiting around.

Im on the drugs at the moment, and have been completley fine on them , no horrible side effects, apart from one headache which wasnt too bad.

Yes your right, there is the pressure of worrying its not going to work, i think with things like this you have to think positive, i do get my down days aswell, my hubby is great and picks me back up.

Good luck with your appointment hun, if there is anything you want to ask me then feel free. :hugs:
