So I'm really struggling with work atm.
I started a new job when I was about 14 weeks I think, so my body wasn't even used to that jobs routines without growing a baby at the same time.
I work 8 hour shifts, 5/7 days a week with 2 days off at the end. I get a 45 minute break, but thats sometimes split into a 25 and 20 minute break, with the break room being 4 flights of stairs away from my till.
So therefore, I spend about 7 hours on my feet standing around every day, and most of the time it's 3-10pm or sometimes even 3-12.
They've only just found out I'm pregnant but I'm really struggling still.
Since 1st June I've had spotting every night around 9.30 if I've been/am at work that day.
I feel like I'm letting my family (oh and lo) down if I stop, but I really don't know what I can do. I'm trying to change to part time instead but I'm worried. I've not had my assessment yet and am not an official employee there yet and I've had to have several sick days due to how worn out and stuff I am, so have already pissed them off :/

My boyfriend recently got a full time job also.
Has anyone got any advice, or been in this/similar situation?:/
Sorry for the lengthy rant! Oh, and Im off to the doctors later on about it also.
xx

I think it'll be good for you to swap to Part time if they allow it, as your find yourself still working/earning and your be resting more aswell.

I'm still at work full time - I sit at a desk all day but by the end of it I'm tired, snappy & have bad backache.. I'm not planning to leave until right before, so got at least another week or two left..

I think your regret leaving work earlier and get bored, and when I'm bored I end up shopping = spending money I don't have!

I would definately recommend asking them to swap you to part time shifts, or even allowing you to sit down every now and then to rest.

xx

Thanks!
The only thing is, there's another girl, same age as me, who's also pregnant and full time but she's 10 weeks ahead of me, so because she's not had anything like that I don't want them to think Im just being pathetic as only 2 of my managers have kids and the rest are about 20 and very career oriented. So they don't really sympathise at all :/

Just because another girl hasn't needed any special requirements it doesn't mean you don't. Everyones pregnancy is different and some may be more difficult then others. You may just be struggling in the early stages but by the end may be able to cope better.. You shouldn't not ask because of the other girl and they shouldn't not give.

Dont feel like a loser:winkwink:
You gotta do what you gotta do and take care of YOURSELF FIRST...and with taking care of yourself, youre taking care of LO and thats whats most important.
Ill tell you straight up,if I was working when I was in my first or early second trimester...I woulda quit..I was way too sick and miserable and wouldnt have been able to carry in out.
If you can switch to part time...then do that. But if you cant, then there is no forcing you to do anything you shouldnt be doing.
Im sure people would understand...because it is really hard.
Best wishes, and goodluck with whatever happens:flower::flower:

Thanks ladies(: just been to the doctors and she said to take the rest of the week off, and drop in a wee sample and if there's a problem she'll sign me off work for a while!
She was lovely though, better than seeing a male doctor tbh!
Couldn't hear my little girls heartbeat cus the midwife had run off with the monitor thingy):
But having this next week makes me feel better
Xx
