Well it’s been just over a week now since my lap & dye and I feel more bloated by the day. My tummy is huge, I feel like I’m going to pop! I feel so uncomfortable and have lots of wind. I feel like I've put on a stone in weight. I've also had some problems going to the toilet - sorry TMI!! I haven't been able to pee proper since the op!

Did any one else feel like this after their lap and dye? Xx

I've had 3 lap & dyes and after each of them I was very bloated for 1-2 weeks after. When your body is in the healing process, you retain more fluid and of course there is inflamation, so don't worry, its all normal, but very uncomfortable none the less!

Hi FJL - thanks for your reply. This is my second lap, I had my first nearly 6 years ago and can't remember feeling this bloated and uncomfortable - I guess people react differntly when they have this op done but its good to hear someone else has expereinced the same - makes me less worried xx

I felt like this apart from the stone in weight and I didn't go to the loo for about a week afterwards and even now I have IBS playing up and I had my lap just before christmas. Hope you feel better soon

I felt fine, absolutely fine, aside from the bad, bad shoulder pain. I suppose it depends on our bodies. Some people don't suffer from that but I was in agony. The wound and the abdomen? No problem. The shoulder hurt the most.

It's all very normal though.
