well after yesterday day i was totally ready to give up breastfeeding for like the 10th time lol....

.... but then.... she went on my breast really easily last night :) i topped up with some expressed i had... like 2 and half oz!!

then oh gave her formula at 5am this morning... then shes been on my breast pretty much since 10am lol....

seems like my supply is up... havent had to top up... :)

im so happy about this.... cos although she still gets hiccups cos she drinks it so god damm fast .... she is no way near as sick!!

on formula its really bad :) also hoping it will get me a really pooey nappy today  worried abit she has constipation!!

:)

however question when will she stop having to feed like every half an hour lol??? since 10am doesnt feel like shes been off me much at all???

UPDATED!!!!!

well today hasnt been quite so sucessful... she had a first little feed and I was planning another day on the sofa... but she got so wound up and screaming ... woke OH up and I ended up giving her formula!! I was also crying

That was at half 1 and she has been asleep since... !! Makes you think.... formula really seems better for her!! She doesnt get all wound up and I HATE seeing her like that!! Not to mention it gives me a headache and makes me feel like that Im starving my baby!! Why did she not want to latch on today quite so much... after a good day yesterday??

Yay go courtney!!
Well done you for sticking with it. At least now you're starting to see results it all seems worth it and here's hoping for a nice big pooey nappy for mummy!!

:happydance:

its finaly nice to hear a bf story that doesnt say im giving up! good on u for gettin through the bad patch n good luck :)

Well done hun, it is really tough to stick with it, but then suddenly it becomes so much easier and gives you the boost to carry on.
Maybe she is going through a growth spurt?
But all that sucking if defo a good thing, it will certaintly get your supply up!
:D

WEll done love!

The constant feeding, I will warn you now, is going to last for a while. I guess by about 10 weeks, I felt like Bren was not constantly on my breast. BUT it is different for everyone, most people notice a difference by 6 weeks. I know that sounds like a really long time, but it will go by sooo quickly.

:wohoo: Sounds like you're doing really well!! The constant feeding does get better but like Samantha said it takes a while - they start getting faster at feeding though, so even if they're feeding every 2 hours (Sam always did during the day until we started food but has always slept all night), they might only take 10 or 20 mins to feed so you're not stuck to the sofa quite so much!

P.S. The constant feeding is a great excuse to have people bringing you food and cups of tea :D x

slap my wrists bf-ing mums but my plan is to still give formula at nights and when we are out... (if not expressed milk)

and after 7 hours of literally constant feeding...sleeping... feeding... cuddling... feeding ... sleeping!

She got really wound up and not taking booby anymore... so I got the bottle... really surprised she drank the full 4oz!! Wasnt expecting that!! Which again is a bit disheartening that I wasnt giving her enough!!

BUT............ she did a GREAT big pooey nappy which daddy changed  and she is so much more settled now.... even in her moses basket :):)

maybe a good night is on the cards :):)

 You're doing so well! Hope you do have a good night :D

Nothing wrong with a bit of formula as well! You're doing great! :D x

Well done, it seems as if things are really coming along. Breast feeding will definatley try your patience. I know it did me. Like you said, feed, burp, cuddle, change diaper (s) (repeat). It is very time consuming and you don't have time for yourself, but in the end it is worth it and becomes routine. It got better for me around 5 or 6 weeks. Pumping really helps keep your supply up as well. Keep up the good work.

Good luck Kerry!!!! You will choose whatever you feel is right for you and your LO... I sure wouldn't be able to handle it, especially cause they tell you to give up coffee and that is the only thing that seems to keep me from having migrains every day.

Don't feel guilty if you have to give her bottles sometimes!! If she's screaming so much you can't get her latched on it'll only make you more stressed. We all have bad days, don't worry - once you start reading her hunger cues so you can get her on before it gets to the crying stage she'll be more relaxed and you'll find it easier as she won't get frustrated that she's having to wait a few more seconds for her food! If you try latching her on when she's not quite so hungry (either after half a formula feed or when you know it's going to be time for a feed soon) it might remind her what she's meant to be doing :D x

i like that idea sams mum.... half a formula feed!! Sometimes though I pull the bottle away to wind her and its an INSTANT CRY!! Shes a greedy little thing like me !!

Im determined not to give up quite yet!!

the latch does get so much easier with age. I gave Ted a few bottles for a while too, as well as bfing - especially just before bedtime. I loved it as he slept for longer. Unfortunately a few weeks ago he decided he didnt want the bottle anymore and only wants boob.

He too can scream if I take him off to wind him before he's good and ready!!...

They've strong charactors our babies..we should be glad...hehe

had a good feed today... wasnt planning on bf-ing today whilst out!! But the shopping centre in MK has great facilities.... she went on without little fuss!! :):) had to top her up after but she had a fair amount from me!!

Just doesnt make sense lol... I didnt even have my nipple shields... she just did it!! Yesterday she was having NONE of it!! Lil madam lol!!
