Femara experiences?

Hi all,

I just had my first appt with an RE and he wants to try me on three cycles of IUI with Femara. From what I've read, this sounds like a good idea but there is one side-effect I'm really worried about:

Hair loss.

I want to hear from women who have taken Femara and your experiences with this side effect. My hair is already thin and it might sound vain, but this side-effect has me really freaked out. If I knew I only had to take it once and it would help me get pregnant I wouldn't care, but there's no guarantee here.

I've only just started it. Given the drug was developed as a cancer drug the hairloss side affect may be related to ladies taking it for weeks on end rather than short bursts the way you do for fertility treatment.

Thanks for your reply. I thought that too, but I found other fertility message boards where the women said they lost hair from Femara. I wasn't sure how common that was though. Good luck and let me know what your experience is!

Even if you do then it will grow back, small price for baby giggles.

I was lucky and got pregnant my first cycle with Femara, I was on 12.5mg day2-6, which seemed like a high dose to me. I didnt experience hair loss, or any other side effects. Good luck!
