Ladies
I've been taking clomid for about 9 cycles and i am just tired of it not working, I got preg naturally 2014 had a mc @ 10 weeks and have been on Clomid with no luck, i have spoken to my doctor regarding my concerns but he just doesn't care, i was thinking of self medicating Femara, Anyone else doing this? Any luck ? what dosage and other meds to take with it? please let me know. Thanks.

I found Femera made me ovulate crazy early! I would not recommend taking this without it being monitored.
You can find what people Drs recommend, everyone is completely different.

If ovulation isn't your issue has your husband had a test done?

I was given femara a year ago. Got my bfp on my 3rd cycle at 7.5 mg. That is quite high and I didn't respond to the 5mg they started me at. Most docs start at 2.5 and work up. If you already ovulate on your own then you won't need a high dose. I don't get monitored in any way. they just give me the script, I take cd 3-7, I go for a progesterone test 7 dpo (temp and use opk's to pinpoint O) to confirm ovulation and if I get pregnant I call them, if not I continue onto the next cycle. So I suppose I am pretty close to self medicating.

I don't know about it making you ovulate early. that is quite individual. I ovulated on cd 17 before my bfp, after my mc it changed to cd 19. I have 35 days cycles most months. Occasionally she will come a day early.

I would also ask if your SO has any issues or has he been tested recently. Lots of things can change. At least it would rule him out.
