We have been ttc for 20 months now. I have a Femvue hsg scheduled for next cycle. My dh has low sperm count. I have irregular cycles. IUI is next step. Anybody in a similar boat??

Hey there,
I'm not completely in the same boat.. yet. We are waiting for our first appointment at the private specialist in two weeks after 21 cycles of no success. My goal at that appointment is to get a HSG req so I can get it done next cycle. Also hubby will be get a req to get tested at this appt too. We aren't sure if there's an issue but he is convinced it's him b/c he's a smoker (bleh!). We are hoping to do IUI soon after our tests! Best of luck with everything, hope your first IUI does the trick!! Just curious- did you try meds before IUI?

Hello. Yes we did try 3 months of clomid first. I feel like we've tried everything. Best of luck with your testing! Hopefully we both get BFPs soon:)

Hi Lanet, My DH has a low sperm count due to a 14 year old Vasectomy Reversal. I have been through all of he infertility testing myself, and most recently I had a hysteroscopy to remove a polyp from my uterus and a laparascopyto unblock a possibly blocked second tube, and my DR discovered Endometrosis and removed it for me. So the surgery was a success, and I have 2 open tubes now and a cleaned out uterus because the polyp is gone!!!

So my next step is a few rounds of clomid and timed :sex: and than IUI is our next move!!

Did your DH have an SA done? What were his numbers like? Do you have your DH on fertility vitamins? They have some really good ones that have helped my DH increase his count and motility!!

Hey Wannabeprego,
Really curious what vitamins helped your DH- type/amount/brand even?!
Hope we all get our BFPs soon!

Thanks for the well wishes!!! Good luck and baby dust to you too!! I hope you get your BFP soon!!!:dust::dust:

Here is a link to the vitamins below for you that have worked with improving my DH's motility and count!! I have him on a higher does that the instruction to help improve his numbers even more, he takes 3 instead of 2 a day!! I would recommend taking 3 to 4 a day if there is a short period of time and you need to get the numers up quickly or even just for better results!!

The first time he did an SA after his reversal surgery he had less than 5 million count and only 36% motility and we weren't even eligile for IUI because his sperm count was too low. He started taing the vitamins about a month before his second SA at the 3 a day dose and he had 6.5million sperm and 65% motility, so it was a big improvement and we became eligible to qualify to do IUI!!!

Yes he has had a s/a. His count was 15, when it should be 60-150 (mil) so it was quite low, although plenty high for IUI. He just finished a bottle of fertility blend vitamins so I hope that has helped. He also had a high white blood count in his semen and has taken 2 rounds of antibiodics. The hospital ended up sending it off for further testing which came out normal but cost us $900 out of pocket so I'm scared to have it tested again! I think I've decided to do the femvue (hsg) and then try for few more months and then IUI if needed.

@lanet, I had an HSG done and I started 2 threads about it, and alot of girls talked about their experience with it...
Here is a link to 2 of my threads about the HSG, I posted questions in the LTTC section and the TTC section and got a bunch of responses. I hope this helps you out!!!

Thank you, I'll go check it out. I'm wondering how different the femvue one is though, I haven't found much info on it.

YW, I am not sure, this is the first time I have ever heard of "femvue." You will have to do an update and let me know how it goes once you have it done. Good luck to you!!:flower:
