Hi everyone

I just wondered if anyone has had to have one of these procedures following a tear or an episiotomy? I had a tear stitched in theatre after having Holly and after months of pain and feeling that my stitches hadn't healed right, I've just been seen by a doctor at the hospital and they've scheduled me for a fenton's procedure under general anaesthetic. I'd be interested to hear about your experiences of having one of these. How long it took to heal afterwards and whether it helped with the pain you had before the procedure?

Thanks

Hi

I just wanted to update this thread in case anyone comes across it looking for some information on this procedure. I went for my operation on Friday, was put under a general at around 10.30, had the procedure and was home by 1pm! It was very quick. It was quite sore for a few days and just today, 5 days later it has started to feel a lot better. I took the prescribed painkillers religiously until today when I've been able to take a bit less. I am now hoping that it has resolved the problem, but only time will tell! They said it'll be 6 weeks before it's fully healed so I won't be able to tell until then.

Glad the op went well, I have just seen your post and interested to her how you feel when all healed. Thanks for posting it up : )

I think I need one myself, have lots of problems post birth, courtesy of a long second stage, too long, and then ventouse and forceps 'difficult' delivery. Afterwards I thought I would NEVER be anywhere near normal again, still have lots of issues at 15 months on not least significant urinary incontinence, but mentally got my head around it now. After stop breastfeeding, 6 months later, going to have an op.. am hoping they will 'tidy' up all down there at the same time!

Childbirth can be a bit gnarly huh!
Love my boy to bits tho : )))
