Fenugreek side effects?

Hi
Anybody know if taking fenugreek capsules can cause menstrual cramps?
I took my 1st ones (2 capsules) today and an hour or so later I was curled up on the couch groaning with really really bad period pain. Was going all around my lower back too, even made me feel like throwing up. LO is 12 weeks old and I Havnt got AF back yet so not sure if it's that coming and it's just a coincidence or if this actually does happen to some people after they take these?

I seem to remember my Doc talking about "possible digestional upset" - could it have been maybe low abdomin cramps due to gass/bloat? If so then that very well could be the fenugreek

When I took it, I only noticed that it made me kind of gassy and smell like maple syrup!

This was full blown menstrual cramps, but I have taken it 3 times a day since and never had it again so must've been a coincidence. However I do smell like maple syrup now lol
