fenugreek?

i am trying to increase my milk supply and have heard about this fenugreek. has anyone used this? how successful was it? are there any side effects?

I never used fenugreek. I take Anis seeds tea.

I use it, to be honest I am still not sure if it is having much of an effect, but I'm going to keep at it for a while longer.

Absolutely no side effects at all (for me anyway) and it is pretty cheap, so worth a go!

I'd suggest trying to get LO to feed more often first, or pumping to increase supply? Fenugreek isn't recommended unless you're in diar need of more milk.

It may also be worth pumping when LO goes to bed or between feeds as an extra kickstart to your supply, be sure to pump for a min of 10mins, alternating the sides. Good luck hun

I have tried fenugreek and found it didn't really work for me. I spoke to my dr about it and he prescribed something for me that worked for a couple of weeks. it meant i could keep breastfeeding for a couple of weeks longer though.

have been taking fenugreek for over a month been brilliant but have had stop taking it last week due to its possibly giving me an upset stomach trying to rule everything out so have started to pump even more during the day butam going to restart taking it again in a week

Fenugreek has kinda helped bring my milk up, but I'm also on domperidone, which is supposed to help in the exact same way.
I haven't noticed any side affects from it, though.
Frankly, I'm still having to supplement at least half her feeds.

I used it for a couple of weeks and it helped boost my supply. YOu dont need to carry on taking it once your supply is where you need it to be so I dont take it any more. Deffo worked for me though and no side effects.

I have used Fenugreek with all three of my lo's to increase milk supply, with good results.
I took the tablets (got from Holland and Barrett) I did find they dont smell nice! and when I got hot the smell came out in my sweat (sorry tmi!)
